Cavalo Guest House & Equestrian Estate

What a peaceful guesthouse located in the scenic town of Drummond. The decor is antique meets modern and the place is kept in pristine condition. We were hosted by Busi and Goodness who made us feel very welcome and comfortable during just stay. The room we stayed in, the Fresian Suite, was equipped with everything we needed including a kitchen area and bar fridge. There is also a patio overlooking the hills so where you can have sundowners while watching the sunset. There is lots to do in this area including horse-riding, hiking and going on safaris.If you're looking to get away in KwaZulu-Natal, I would definitely recommend Cavalo Equestrian Estate.

Hayley, Princess and Benny are delightful hosts who bent over backwards to accommodate us when we stayed a month whilst our home was being renovated. Princess' cooking is excellent... especially the absolutely top rate chicken curry. One of the quite grumpy guests who stayed while we were there complained about the food, which I struggled to understand since he went back for seconds!Room was small but perfectly formed and having the sunny patio room for kitchen, dining and lounge was ideal.We'll definitely stay again. Loved Room 1, had our own well equiped self catering room. There is a gas braai, a boma and a lovely clean swimming pool. Breakfast was delicious- 1 egg, bacon, sausages and yummy beans served with toast and some juice or coffee. The room was well decorated and bed very soft. Loved that we had a roof fan to cool us off. We went on the horse ride which took us up the road with a beautiful scenery. On the property theres some friendly dogs and chicken but are enclosed from the house. Felt relaxed and would definitely recommend!

Exeptional service from the staff always ready to help and assist. The Manager Haley Dean has gone out of her way to make our stay a pleasant one always available to assist and give advice with just about anything. Aand all the staff are amazing with kids. I will stay at Cavalo every time that im in Durban.

We had a lovely 1 night stay, very comfortable bed, delicious dinner and breakfast. Princess a wonderful host and amazing cook, loved the lemon tart. Goodness so sweet loved her singing. Felt totally relaxed amongst the dogs, geese, chicken, horses and picturesque scenery. Had a lovely swim in the magnificent pool and sipping wine on the deck in the evenings. An ideal place to get away for tranquility. Will definitely come back. Thank you

Totally as advertised! Loved the beautiful surroundings of the farm--restful and inspiring. The gorgeous decor and facilities are mostly antique and very comfortable, my favourite being the writing desks. Lots of plug points. We had wonderful self-catering facilities. Breakfast was on time with a nice selection and well prepared. We particularly appreciated the beverage selection.Full covid-19 protocols with handwash and sprays in the rooms. We felt very safe and at home throughout.Thank you to the staff, in particular Princess, and owner for such an awesome stay! It was just what we needed. I highly recommend Cavalo for a writers retreat. Would have loved to have stayed on longer!
