Kitesurfing Langebaan & Cape Town

Nobody is too old to learn Kitesurfing! I'm 44 ;)Thomas, the owner, is really kind.He gave me 4 hours of fun on the water. The wind was good that day, with almost flat water.. yeah! I'm coming back. Thomas is a great instructor and an amazing guy! I had 2 lessons with him, it was good fun and I felt safe (which is really important if you are a beginner). He is very enthusiastic and he supports you over and over….it worked very well with me! I can see he really enjoys spending time with people and his passion is contagious.We practiced in Shark Bay, perfect location, and the equipment provided by the school was brand new and super functional (thanks Zara for taking care of it).If you want to learn kite, this is the place to go!Alessandro

I had a really great experience doing a 3-hour refresher course and renting equipment on the following day.I got in contact with Thomas before I arrived and he was flexible enough to arrange a 3-hour late afternoon refresher session for the same day. The session took place at shark bay which is a great kite spot for both beginners and more experienced kites. The rented kite equipment (everything including wetsuite) was pretty new. During the session, Thomas was super helpful and I could make tremendous progress (e.g. surfing upwind and transitions). The entire interaction was super smooth, relaxed and friendly. I highly recommend Kitesurfing Langebaan to anybody looking for lessons or rental equipment.

Great place to spend your kitesurfing holiday! Langebaan is an charming little seaside town @ the South African Coast, at the edge of the Langebaan lagoon. The lagoon is perfect for beginners since you can easily get on the board. The guys from Kitesurfing Langebaan are awesome: good teaching skills, with state of the art kitesurfing materials. And with good weather conditions (lots of wind!!!) I would say that every kitesurflover has to visit this place one day!

I am a beginner kitesurfer with five lessons behind me with capability to get up and stand for a while but not really felt I could control what I was doing. So I decided to take a private lesson with Thomas to see what I could improve. He took me to Shark Bay were the conditions are perfect for beginners with shallow waters. I used the Kite school equipment which was brand new and super nice. It was windy about 18-20 knots and I started out crashing really bad twice but Thomas was very calm and just did the instructions one by one and I was amazed what difference it made. I was a completely different kiteboarder after those three hours. I have found prior instructors very inpatient and shouting instructions. Here it was the opposite. Really recommended if you go to Langebaan!

Very lovely crew where you get a really personal and patient teaching. Graeme teached us in a group of three people and I was really impressed how motivated he was to bring all of us to riding a kite in three days.I think some single lessons on day 2 and/or 3 would make sense as well. Thanks again!

I had an great time doing my course at Kitesurfing Langebaan. Thomas is thorough and patient, but always fun; and Zara is well organized, helpful and always has a smile to share. A great experience on and off the water. I can highly recommend them to anyone interested in taking kitesurfing lessons in Langebaan!

Following my experiences I have had with the individual running this school, I have found in my opinion his ethics and morals to be questionable and disconcerting.The positive of this school is the location being on the edge of the lagoon, however you cannot kite on that particular section of beach. Therefore, the location is not as advantageous as initially perceived because you will need some form of transport to get to and from the section of beach where you can learn to kite.In a nutshell and based on my personal experiences: with so many other schools based in Langebaan and Cape Town, I would not necessarily recommend this school when learning an extreme sport such as kitesurfing.
