I know discovery clinic is a public clinic but I don’t like how the doctor at acute clinic treated me on Tuesday. It’s young black male doctor Zulu speaking. He asked my medical conditions as a doctor should and send me to do X-ray. When I was done he was standing at the door by the X-ray and took my X-ray and looked at it right there by the passage, I don’t understand why he would do that there and not took it to his office to have a look and be professional like the rest, he wrote things right there and we went to the other side where he wrote me my medication. It seems he was in a hurry to go somewhere but I found that was really unprofessional because as he was writing I asked him for a letter and he was busy whistling, he didn’t even say something for me to see that he was listening to me. I had came straight from work as I was not feeling well that day of which he was supposed to give me an extra day off but obviously he didn’t care. He just wrote what he wanted. I find that was really unprofessional.

The nurses are all amazing there. The nurse who helped me deliver was so patient and easy. The experience is nothing like that of a government, it is exactly the same experience as a private hospital. The clinic as a whole is clean. The cleaners and security are friendly too. I had the best amazing private experience delivery. It is unfortunate I forgot the nurses name but she is a Mopedi lady. If only all government facilities can be like this. There was never a moment where a nurse sprouted at me for no reason.

Referred for metal health assistance. Told they will call me. Give medication and make it less which is dangerous. Not helpful at all. I need help. What must we do to get help. Overdose or harm ourself ro get helped?

I don't know if I will be able to clearly articulate the horrific experience I had in the maturnity ward. I know that Discoverers is a government facility but I read a few good reviews and thought my experience would be similar.Unfortunately I was dead wrong. As soon as I entered the ward I was given an unprofessional attitude. Instead of assisting me at my time of arrival which was 06:20, the nurses waited for shift change so that the incoming nurses would admit me.The incoming nurses only assisted me at 07:35 and told me they were doing me a favour bcoz the previous nurses left me on purpose. From then on it was hell on earth. I informed the nurses that I had a running tummy and was vomiting, none of that was attended to. Three hours later I told them I was feeling weak, and they started ganging up on me, telling me I was not the only patient and that they were short staffed. During labour I was slapped on the back and thighs multiple times and insulted about the size of my private parts. After delivery the insults continued and I was told that they have no fear being reported because they had witnesses that the patient (myself) was difficult.I regret ever entering those doors and was overjoyed when I was discharged later that day. I don't wish this treatment on my worst enemy. Giving birth is hard on the body, no need to add verbal abuse.

My experience was totally different from what I've heard about govt facilities being harsh with patients, the midwife who helped me deliver my beautiful son on 17 Oct (its unfortunate that I forgot her name) was so patient, personable and caring. She is like that with every patient. Imagine being attented to by someone like that at every govt facility. Everyone I came across on that day shift was just amazing. I could go on but I must just say, I highly recommend this place and hope that all mommas giving birth here share the same sentiment.

The maternity ward is the best. I gave birth in July and this clinic is close to a private clinic. The facilities are clean and the staff members are great, this includes all the staff members from different departments. I wouldn't hesitate togo back to this clinic to give birth in future. Please keep up the great standard and continue to show that not all public hospitals/clinics are bad.

I found a lady at X-ray room waited for more than an hour with no help available the radiologist is no where to be found just imagine if there is an emergency that needs x-ray.The management should deal with department or the department must not operate on weekends and public holidays

Went to the dentist got the before 8am stood in the queue with no chairs for the dentist queue to open file till 10am we were still not helped. They nurses told us we might not even get helped cause they take a Certain number of patients a day yet I was number 29. You stand for long with your tooth aching and still don’t get help.

Hi there. I wanted to know, after giving birth how many ladies are put in 1 room? Is it the same as in a public hospital? Thank you.The rating I gave is due to other reviews that I've seen. I haven't been here before. Just wanted to find out the above.
