The employees in the office were very helpful and kind, 10/10. We only spent the day at the the site, going on the Sleeping Beauty Cave trail. The trail was absolutely breathtaking. Walking through the valley, at the feet of the mountains in the Mzimkulu wilderness area. A truly beautiful hike.~4.5km to the cave and the same path back. The first 2km can be done by children and older people. The last 2.5km has a lot of inclines and can feel like a longer distance than it is. It can be a real struggle if your fitness levels aren't great. Take ample rests and enjoy the magnificent beauty of the journey and the cave. Can't wait to hit their next hike.

Campsite at the Garden Castle hiking area main office.Stunning day and multi-day hiking trails in the pristine Drakensberg start from here.Crystal clear rivers to swim in, exiting trails to walk from. Sheltered camping site with ablutions surrounded by forest on one side and a view of the Berg to all other sides. Sometimes even Eland graze nearby.

The Garden Castle Campsite is a quaint, hidden away jewel. It’s at the end of the road and you need to drive through Drakensberg Gardens to get there. This makes it nice and remote and off the beaten track. The campsite is small with only 10 sites, but they all have a stunning view of Rhino Peak and the paths into the mountains are right there. Ablutions are simple, clean and adequate.A great place to spend some time exploring the mountains.

Access to Garden Castle reserve and Campsite is through Gooderson drakensberg resort. Tell security that you are going to the reserve and you won't be charged an entrance fee. Garden castle reserve offers stunning scenery and multiple different hikes ranging from a few hours to multi day hikes. The trails are fairly well marked and there is a picnic area next to the day visitors parking lot. Always carry enough water with you and and a rain coat of sort on your hike as the weather can change rapidly. The staff at the reception were friendly and very helpful. I recommend you carry cash with you to pay for your entrance fee unless you are a Rhino Club member.

Such an amazing place. Only 12 campsites keeps it nice and quiet. How water showers and gas freezer make life a little more luxurious while camping here. Absolutley stunning views and peaceful atmosphere.

Garden Castle / Maloti Drakensberg Park (World Heritage Site) access to the park is via Gooderson Drakensberg Gardens Resort. Tell security you are visiting the reserve and they will not charge you. Once you reach the reserve you will pay R50 per adult per day. Park gates are open from 6am to 6pm. Main attraction are the hikes to Sleeping Beauty Cave and Rhino peak.

We had a lovely weekend away with the family. We did not go camping but I walked through the campsite; was quite busy, lots of sheded area, you camp next to river which is beautiful. The resort itself is well laid out with breathtaking views. Every area of the resort has its own pool and jungle gym/ entertainment areas for old and young. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is plenty to do from playing golf, to archery, zip line, acro branch, tennis, putt put, and of course hiking in the beautiful mountains.I would suggest you bring your own wood or charcoal for a braai as the wood that you buy at the shop is R70 for a big bag which doesn't give you nice coals for a braai.
