Terrible bartenders.The bar tender was incredibly rude (tall dark skinned African man). He got attitude with me when I hesitated with my drink order then proceed to serve some else whilst I was waiting for the card machine. He is uninviting and incredibly blunt, and proceeded to act out of spite and take his dear time to get the card machine. Terrible bartender.This is my second time here and I had an issue with him previously as well. Definitely a reason to not come here.

Ordered a toasted sandwich, took over an hour to prepare, not even an apology for the delay while the owner sat next to me. Overpriced and bland. Service dubiously racist.

Waitress refused to serve me for no reason. I say here for an hour and she served everyone around me but ignored me when I tried to get her attention. I had to order both my drinks and food directly from the bar.

We were keen to give the Barrel a try so we met up with some friends for a pub lunch. After having a drink we attempted to order some food. We were informed that all they could offer was chicken strips and chips as they were out of stock of everything. With no options we ordered and the most disgusting meal ever landed in front of us. For the time we were there we got offered more drinks only once. I can usually excuse this if the place was packed, but the 3 groups of people in the place was hardly enough to keep the 3 wait staff busy. As a matter of fact the 3 was constantly standing around chatting actively avoiding the gaze of customers. After we finished our meal a bakkie laden with raw food arrived and started offloading. So at least there will be food for a dinner rush, that being said raw meat on the back of an open bakkie on a rather hot sunny day I pity anyone brave enough to eat here. Awful experience.

Pub. What more describes this place's atmosphere? Service was friendly and attentive. Food was good - not great.When a pub doesn't have stock of your favourite draft, the place won't become your favourite.

It's an old man's pub, which is awesome.... It's just missing all the other cool things like quiz nights and the like . There's a fantastic salon next door though. Very convenient.

Great place to spend an evening with friends and family, play some pool and they have quiz nights. Good clean fun....
