Westbrook Beach Lodge

The owner started to be physical with a customer when we were late checking out and was totally abusive physically and verbally to one of my friends, we were still waiting for our transportation and forced to stand outside the building

I wish I could give this place a better review. It is in a beautiful location and there is so much potential. The rooms are big and rustic and the staff were pleasant.BUT, unfortunately that's where the good ends. The driveway is scary steep and the parking is wayyyyy at the top of it. Our car kep trying to slide back down and the road is so narrow that there is nowhere else to park.The rooms were dirty and dusty and looks like all that was changed between visits was the linen. The spare blankets were in the cupboards unfolded and so I am sure uncleaned. The fridge was filthy and there were dishes in the drying rack. The curtains were filthy and full of grimy fingerprints. The shower curtain was broken and the window behind the shower could not be closed. There was a quarter toilet roll left for us and no spare.I hate to do bad reviews because I know people will be disappointed but all this place needs is a clean and a small bit of TLC to make it special.OH, and there is ZERO signal so prepare to be out of touch!

Beautiful places I've stayed for quite some time love the sea view

Lovely stay. Best room with the high ceiling - felt like a hall! Downside: no basin in unit, but we were informed beforehand and there is a sink outside (5m away) plus dishes washed at no extra cost. Good response time to any complaints. Beautiful view, close to the beach and ocean. Basics were all there. A gem for easy going holiday goers. Curvy, steep driveway - but we managed with non-4x4 car. Would definitely stay here again.

This has been one of the worst places i have ever stayed at.The owner has no manners and clearly doesnt know what she is doing. The place was extremely dirty. There's no sink in the small kitchen so you have to go outside to wash dishes.We tried calling the owner to ask her a couple of questions and her respos was she wasn't in the mood to awnser because she has a life and if we want to complain we should just pack up and go.Please think twice before going here, we cut our 13day stay short to only 3.Terrible place and worse owner.

Owner/manager was extremely racist and doesn't know how to talk to guests. Has no manners and swore over loud laughter. Could have spoken nicely first. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Place also smells a little and is untidy

Booked in for 03 May 2019 - Checked out 05 May 2019.We booked into room number 5.My wife and I were robbed at gun point at 03h00 on 05 May 2019.Two men forcefully entered our room and robbed us of 3 cellphones; my laptop; binoculars; 2 external hardrives; my tested grasses; shoes; my wifes handbag which contained R500; id; passport; drivers licence; bank cards; rings; vanity bag.It was a terrifying experience.They got out of the window onto the balcony and scaled to the ground floor and escaped.Fortunately we were not harmed.I had to walk to the offices which were at the back at 03h10 in order to alert Rupert.The door at room number 5 is easily opened with just a slight exertion.I proved this to the Lodge attendant and owners.This is the first time that this happened to us and I believe that this was planned by someone who knew the condition of the door of room 5 - easy to force open.The resident at the ground floor unit heard the commotion and notified Lydia the owner.Lydia came over and was supportive and called the police.I love the natural setup of this lodge but would unfortunately not be staying there anymore.The security at the Lodge needs to be upgraded to ensure the safety of everyone.

I warn you, do not go here.

3rd time there. GREAT location. Friendly staff. Will go again
