Cathedral Peak Hotel

From the security gate to reception, the staff were friendly and accommodating. Fantastic people.The hotel and rooms are great and loads of history behind it. My only complaint was that I could hear the neighbors on either side of us and some key was cutting down the forest big time next door. The teenagers on the other side were making a noise until late.The bed was very comfortable, one of the nicest I have slept on.The food and service from the staff was brilliant.Well done guys. Keep it up.

Lovely venue for a getaway! Really relaxing and picturesque! So many activities to do and the food is exceptional! Chef Pat and the dining staff was amazing. The rooms are also very comfortable. Only suggestion I have is that the reservation team needs to improve their service. We had to follow up on whether our bookings were confirmed and whether our payments were received. I expect more from this department of a hotel.

My guests from Poland and myself spent 3 days 2 nights at Cathedral Peak. Highly recommend as right in the mountains, hiking is fantastic, scenery stunning, service 5 star and wonderful rooms with great views. The roads to Cathedral Peak are in very good condition with great scenery on route. Definitely recommend to locals and international guests. It was also well marked . A must if never been to this amazing destination.

Surrounded by the beautiful Drakensberg mountains and stunning views, Cathedral Peak Hotel is a great place to stay!The hotel has a large variety of facilities, including playgrounds, different pools, tennis courts etc. There are so many things to do, including hiking and horse riding! The hotel's restaurant offers fantastic food (including a buffet) throughout the day.The rooms are comfy and are kept very clean. The service was wonderful! Very warm and welcoming.A little pricey but for this experience it is worth the money.

We got engaged at Cathedral Peak in May 2021. It was a long time ago. We are getting married in a months time and are reviewing our journey. Looking back we feel sad because it was a once in a life time experience and in hindsight it didn't meet our expectations. The location was fantastic. But basically that is all that was fantastic. I still remember seeing cups and sauces left along the path(all day) as we made our way to the dining room. We were in a celebratory mood and the barman was less than accommodating.

Excellent cuisine and service. Staff friendly and efficient. Beautiful views of the mountains. The road to CPH has a few one way deviations resulting from fllood damage, best to travel during daylight for last 30km.

We had such a wonderful stay, the views are absolutely breathtaking and the staff were all super friendly! We were joined by the resident cats, Mouse & Gerry who spent both nights snuggled up with us and supervised our putt putt game and walked us home at night, which was so adorable! Didn't want to leave and can't wait to plan another trip! Highly recommend!!

An iconic hotel in a magnificent setting. Views to die for. Lots of free activities like early morning bird walks, guided hikes, swimming, games room etc. Full board breakfast thru to dinner. Drinks reasonably priced as well. Great staff!!

We had a terrible experience at the hotel and the problems started from the first stay at the hotel. We went to the hotel to view as an option as a wedding venue and the location was stunning but I had a found a hair in my food. I reported it and all that I was told was sorry it won't happen again. Despite this horrendous experience we decided to go ahead with the hotel as a venue. We had 50 guests staying at the hotel and a few of them experienced incorrect billing on their statements which was rectified after going backwards and forwards. When we got to the hotel and had to pay the balance we again had incorrect prices reflecting on the bill which was again rectified after raising this. The food prices for our guests , corkage and incorrect food tabs were again incorrectly billed but the mistakes are always higher prices and not lower prices conveniently. To top off this terrifible management experience, we had cold water in the honeymoon suite for 2 days and the attitude towards this situation was so what and no understanding of the gravity of the situation to compensate us for all the unacceptable mistakes. We should of been moved to a room of similar standard and a complementary night or something to try and end off our stay on a better note. It was afterall our weddingThe decorations from our supplier was also stolen and one of our guests gifts was also stolen as the management say the hotel does not have it.
