Tzamenkomst River Lodge

Everything was amazing! Even when there was a problem not caused by the accommodation staff, the staff went over and above to fix the problem without hesitation. The view, rooms and amenities were incredible. The food was out of this world. I will definitely be back. A special thanks to Le-Anne and Tanja for everything!!!!

We stopped over to rest on our way to Cape Town from Pretoria. We arrived late afternoon and felt right at home when we were welcomed by Tania. The views, decor, food and staff were AMAZING! It felt like a mini holiday before hitting the long road to CPT again. Highly recommended! (And our kids loved every minute of it)

I just spent 4 memorable days at Tzamenkomst. If you are a mountain biker, I can highly recommend Tzamenkomst River Lodge for getting a mountain bike tour group together for a few days, or just as couple of nights stop over. There are mountain bike trails that have been marked out for 40km, 20km and 10km. We did a game ride amongst golden wildebeest, sable antelope, springbok, eland, gemsbok and more. What an experience! Awesome single track as well!We also did longer mountain bike routes around Colesberg and Gariep Dam of various distances from 60km to 120km - the Karoo should definitely be on your bucket list. A big thank you to Marc Adam for taking us on some fantastic rides.Tzamenkomst is right on the banks of the Orange River - red sunsets and sun downers.The Lodge and cottages are upmarket, very comfortable and with a view onto the river.The butter chicken curry and lamb shanks were a favourite.Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful stay. Very friendly service. Great self help, small buffet style breakfast. If you are stopping by between your road trip to Cape Town it is definitely worth staying an extra night.

The Bird Hive was beautiful! The fact that there was so much open space for the dog to run around and keep busy was amazing!The upstairs room was magnificent, however it did smell slightly. Probably needed to be aired out before.The downstairs was nothing to be excited over, we didn't make much use of it. Although the braai with the provided wood, and the gated area to keep pets was super helpful.The staff were incredibly friendly & helpful with the booking and date changes.The only downside were the bugs. Being on the water, I know its expected, but there were just so many. Bathing was not so much fun as the bugs would keep flying into the water. Even with the nets on the bed, bugs still made there way in.Other than that, it was a great stay and look forward to coming again.

What a special experience ! We were on route from the Western in Limpopo. First we came in late - and we request our own braai facilities. No issues…just friendly en helpful people. I even got a birthday cake…what a surprise ! A HUGE thank you to every one for making our stay one to remember. We will be back !!

Spent two nights at Tzamenkomst River Lodge on the way down from Gauteng to Mossel Bay and back. This is the perfect overnight stop which could easily be extended into a short, relaxing holiday. From the warm welcome by Jean-Marie to the very comfortable and spotless rooms, exceptional setting (especially the sunsets and views across the Orange River), great wholesome food, log fires and obliging staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our two stopovers.Tzamenkomst is way better than any other accommodation we have stayed at in the Colesberg/Gariep area. Great value for money too! Highly recommended.

We stopped over for one night on our way from KZN to Oudtshoorn. We were greated by friendly staff, had a delicious dinner and buffet breakfast the next morning. We stayed in Stable 3, which was very spacious with all the comforts. We really enjoyed iur stay. Will definitely be back!

Tsamenkomst was an absolute oasis for us after a long day on the road. Such friendly and accommodating service. The setting on the bank of the orange river is just mangnificant. A sunset swim in the rim flow pool was indescribable!
