Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa

The place is absolutely beautiful, including the service. The house keeping standards and maintenance however are beyond appauling. We stayed in the stone house villa and the level of uncleanliness is out of this world, the carpets are dusty with dirt on them, the floors were not even mopped in different parts of the house. We were given dirty towels from the previous group even after complaining house keeping returned the very same towels and parts of the dirty bedding until i walked to reception to complain again about new towels. There pool was quite dirty upon arrival and only got poured with chlorine when we were already there. Lights were dead by the pool deck for safety reasons. The bathroom bin was not emptied upon arrival. And generally the bins dont get emptied by house keeping. For the price that we paid for this villa and the effort the owners put in for such beautiful finishings and aesthetics it is shocking to say the least that cleanliness is something one would have to complain about. It was honestly such an uncomfortable stay. The service at the reception is however exceptional, the spa included.They really need to retrain their housekeeping and maintenance staff.

This place is absolutely amazing. Friendly, professional staff, beautiful rooms and excellent service throughout the day. I absolutely loved the food in the kitchen. A definite must do for a couple to relax.

This place feels too good to be true. From the moment my wife and I arrived, friendly staff greeted us with warm smiles. They really seemed to genuinely want our stay to be comfortable and memorable.The accommodation was breathtaking - secluded, luxurious and immaculate. The surroundings were lush, beautiful and wild. The food was spectacular, every meal consistently delicious.My wife came back from her spa treatment on a high. She was visibly lifted from the experience.And for all of this opulent luxury, the cost is really reasonable.We will definitely be returning!

Absolutely wonderful. Tranquil, scenic and an all round wonderful experience. All the small details just made the experience all the more luxurious. The spa massage was amazing. The restaurant was devine everytime. The turn down service was lovely. We really enjoyed the open bath/shower and the privacy the cabins offer.

A little slice of heaven. 5 stars is not enough. The atmosphere, rooms and service is impeccable. A rustic, rural yet modern approach has been achieved with no expense spared. The spa location and setting is stunning, the restaurant is lovely (and cater for dietary requirements with care) and the staff are simply beautiful - helpful, thoughtful, funny, knowledgeable and genuine in their approach. Will hopefully return as soon as we can.

Went to the farmstall. They require your Driver's licence, which they scan in as we as your vehicle licence disk - no doubt due to security.We picked up the items we wanted to purchase. The lady serving in the shop picked up her phone and literally after many minutes said R350". I told her the amount was R280 and she'd made a mistake. Eventually we walked out without taking the items as we had no clue what was taking so long orcwhat the problem was with giving is the correct amount for the goods."

The tents were gorgeous. The bath tub overlooking the trees outside. The food . The staff, the massages…. Everything was perfect

We visited the River Cafe for breakfast. Breakfast very tasty, good prices. The mushrooms on toast were delicious! The setting is fantastic. The road to get to the River Cafe is challenging for low cars, it's also not well sign posted - we got lost when trying to find the parking and when trying to find the exit and so did friends who visited on another occasion. The manager is very unfriendly and unwelcoming. He didn't even greet us. Doesn't deserve a job.

Laid back luxury and bush indulgence …but what is a beautiful place without the kindness, professionalism and wonderful staff that made my stay memorable and ensured that I will return over and over again! A gem next to the Sabie river , well equipped luxury tents & a proper hairdryer! Spa treatments with a view & amazing therapists!The tent with a big comfy bed & an outside shower & bath overlooking the river, mountains & green backdrop and a heater to stay a little bit longer!So much to discover & beautiful surroundings… u certainly will never get tired of endless views & friendly well trained staff. Rosie, Lawrence, Shaun, Wendy, Blessed, Peacefully…and the whole team you guys are the best. See you again and hopefully soon. Thank you.
