I would not nearly be where I am in my guitaring career if not for Mike. Anyone who knows how to play guitar can attempt to teach others but Mike has simply mastered the ability to teach others. Mike is a great teacher. He is relaxed, easy to chat too, puts you at ease. No pressure - just a gentle persuasion.Has great knowledge of all genres of guitar music- as well as drums. I’m taking classic guitar and wanted to learn to read music from scratch. He is methodical and thorough and is not intimidating in anyway whatsoever. I can thoroughly recommend him as a great guitar tutor.

Definitely 5 stars for Mike Kaplan! And if I could give more, I would in a heartbeat! When I was looking for a ukulele teacher, a friend recommended Mike to me. Actually a guitar teacher, Mike immediately agreed to teach me how to play the ukulele. And it's just unbelievable fun! It's only because of Mike that I've made incredible progress in just a few months - and that's despite the fact that we both live almost 9,000 kilometres apart. So my lessons are purely digital, which doesn't detract from Mike's learning methods. Mike motivates me immensely because, besides being a coach, he is first and foremost a musician who loves to share his knowledge and love for music with others. He has great musical knowledge and is a fantastic teacher who enjoys teaching and has a lot of appreciation for his students. I heartily recommend Mike as a teacher, even for those who are not native English speakers. So far we have overcome every language hurdle with patience and joy. And in the end, it's the music that counts anyway!

I’ve wanted to pick up the guitar again after many years of unstructured plodding along. My wife got me a month’s worth of lessons from Mike and I’ve been happy rekindling my love for the instrument and music ever since. Mike has a knack to find the best way to ensure progress but in a way that adapts uniquely to a person’s needs. Definitely worth trying if you’re stuck or want to get back into it.

Mike Kaplan has been an amazing coach and motivator. I have been taking lessons for almost a year, and have learnt so much.
