African Lion Lodge

Absolutely amazing reception, most friendly staff. Good for couples, great for groups. Reasonably priced (R1000pppn incl dinner and breakfast/ R750pppn incl breakfast). Situated close to the Monkey park and a comfortable drive to Dinokeng. Highly recommend!!!

I took my husband and kids there the passed weekend. It was awesome. From when we stopped we were greeted by Lorraine. Awesome lady!!! She toom us for a tour of the lodge and then took us to choose our own rooms. Rooms perfect but they can change the plugs for the kettle haha. Food was excellent and more than enough. The personnel are Super friendly and helpfull. Nice environment and a place to recharge your mental batteries while looking and listening to the lions on the premises. Will defnitely go back!!! Drinks and beverages are more than affordable its actually hard to believe that you are staying in a Lodge at that affordable prices. I would like to see more small animals in the surroundings though.. Thank you African Lion Lodge for a perfect weekend!!

I give them 5 stars on rooms, service, food, ambiance. Worth every cent.

The atmosphere is absolutely amazing. The sound of the lions roaring at night is the perfect lullaby. Very neat and clean rooms and great service.Recommend to anyone.

We took some international guests on their anniversary to African Lion Lodge ,my guests were told to run the bath for a while to get rid of the dirt from the tank -They ran the bath tub 4 times and still the water came out black -they tried unsuccessfully to clean in this, which of course completely spoilt their stay and their anniversay ,they tried to find someone to help but no-one was to be found -even the next morning there was no-one around -Our room at first smelt strongly of chlorine which we think was to try cover the smell of sewage in the bathroom/toilet -We sent a complaint to the establishment ,and did not have the courtesy of a reply -so to give them another chance- before we made a review- we sent them a second complaint, which they still have not had the decency to even reply too

A great experience , lovely stay, great food and a very neat place. Friendly, efficient and experienced staff. Was great meeting Loraine and Bertha who took perfect care of all the guests.

Beautiful & scenic the entire experience is a must from the midday game drive right to the Zoo not to mention the wonderful staff members.

Tranquil get-away for a weekend. Chalets surrounded by lovely gardens. Loved to see how they feed the lions.

NOTE: The is a difference between mystic monkey zoo, and african lodge accommodation. I am reviewing the accomodationTerrible service - non existent. Unhelpful, and no way to contact reception for help.I would just like to respond to our non-stay, since I was totally disgusted with your service. We arrived tired and dirty , and then had to call several times before someone answered to open the gate. Once we were inside, the reception was locked (2pm – not any unusual hour). We walked around looking for someone, finally called again and someone answered, but was rude and unhelpful.Finally someone showed up and showed us to our room. We couldn’t shower then because the zoo closed at 4pm, so we rushed there. When we came back. I wanted to bath, but there were no soap. I tried to make coffee, but there was no milk. There were also no way to contact reception, and it is not my job to run around looking for your personnel. We found this unacceptable and got in the car and left immediately for our next destination, without spending the night. The right thing to do would be to refund us, but looking at the attitude we were met with, I doubt you even care.
