Trout Hunters

So this review is of trout hunters as both a fishing spot and an OFF GRID campsite. There is basically only one campsite with vehicle access , and then a number of others , but be prepared to carry goods up to 150m .Pros : Plenty fish ; good off-grid campsite (plenty of open or shaded areas and ground is medium hard , so great for tent pegs) ; dish washing facilities; toilets; braais on some sites ; peaceful ; fish available from 1m offshore , you don't have to cast far at all. Staff around all day , so seems fairly secure. Loud noise isn't aloud so you can enjoy peace.Cons: no water taps near sites; no showers (although this is clearly stated) ; toilets had no toilet paper by 13h00 on Saturday, so definitely bring your own.Overall: I think this is definitely a place aimed at day visitors , but I see what looks like a lot of new developments and more support for campers. Note that the vehicle access to the one site is not caravan or big trailer friendly, you would need to be able to move the trailer around by hand. At the end it was a great weekend , we caught plenty fish and had a relaxing time . Note that the fish are very hook shy , each one has been caught dozens of times , so this place definitely favours seasoned carp anglers , but I am new to carp fishing and we still caught.

Fun to take the family for a day out and for the kids to catch their first fish. Lovely camping place as well.

Nice spot, very clean ablutions, will definitely go again. We didn't catch any fish today, but a wonderful outing

Excellent fishing spot, and very clean. My only and major concern is the fishes are disabled. I think the lack of new genetics definitely made the fishes special. Their mouths are very small and deformed, this makes taking the hook out much harder.

Quinton- Owner non responsive to queries- he feels a sense of entitlement and forgets he runs a business offering a service to his customers. The ablutions here are pathetic and filthy.

Fantastic time! Loads of carp and barbel! Everyone can catch a fish there! Staff very friendly, toilets very clean and fresh! One of our favourite fishing spots.

Beautifull place, but campsite too dar from parking, its much like canwd lion hunting, the fish mouth are showing signs of damage from catch and release, i am not cool with that concept

Not a bad place, friendly staff and fishing ponds are neat and tidy. Toilet are not to satisfaction and need to improve. Would be nice if they had people who can help carry your stuff as it's a bit of a walk from the parking.

Great venue with beautiful dams and LOTS of fish!
