Hout Bay parkrun
The course is definitely more trail than road and has always been described as such. You wont set a personal best as it is sandy in places, narrow in others and sometimes a bit up and down and winding. Not suitable for prams, narrow paths in places can make dogs a bit difficult but its all in nature and usually not super crowded. And the best group of volunteers ... who bring a bridge when the wetland river flows!

Great run, lovely runners and volunteers! Fairly sandy and muddy at times but always fun and a nice challenge. Volunteered and ran here many many times. Nice and small group of runners (average of 100 I’d say). Highly recommended!

Hout Bay parkrun
Most of the route consists of soft sand and uneven terrain. I found it difficult to navigate through very narrow single paths. There was also a section of the route that was completely overgrown with reeds and wasn't clear which direction to go. I don't think I'll be coming back.

Amazing beautiful parkrun between the mountains. Fun group of volunteers. Route well marked and mostly flat on sand and grass.

My second Park Run home.For me, it is a great advantage to be reachable by public transportation, by those who live in CBD or Atlantic Seaboard.I avoid when it is raining because all the path is not paved. So it makes the run a bit more difficult and slower. It is a small field but they made a very interesting path to make it 5km.The views of the mountains around make this Park Run very beautiful also.

More of a trail run. Very loose sand, difficult to manage for parents with prams, walkers or with a hiking kidscarrier
