Shining Waters Guest House

My wife and I had an excellent stay at Shining Waters. Our room had a wonderful view with a nice bed. The location itself is well situated, close to the center of town but with enough distance to be quiet. Jon, the owner, was incredibly helpful and cooks a good breakfast. His dogs are very nice as well!!

Reception by the owners made us feel welcome and relaxed. Far enough from the busy beach but within walking distance, also from restaurants to suite all tastes. Clean white linen on comfortable beds, ensuite bathroom, sea view, tv in room, brilliant breakfast to taste and a lovely shared lounge. If we had to visit again, it would be for at least a week to ensure we absorb more of what the area have on offer.

I waited until after breakfast before writing this review. First of all, everything was to me as stated on their website with a touch of great service. Jon seemed very passionate about what he does and occasionally cracks a joke, which made me feel at home. This venue is set very beutifully and you can see and hear the sea, which is walking distance ONLY if you don't mind taking down the steep set of wooden stairs going down to the rocky beach below. But as stated in the well-organised file in your room, a swimning beach is really not far to drive to. If yiu choose wilderness, bear in mind its name. You might not encounter wild animals, but there will be birds crossing the road if you walk far enough. Getting back to the guest house, I felt the service was wonderful, the host showed a lot of interest (for the sake of making your stay more pleasant) For me personally, I would have liked an upper room, but having stayed alone, I would have to consider the price and other guests - but even my ground level room had a bit of sea view and was beautifully furnished as I expect any good guest house to be. In the end I can fully recommend this place for a nice relaxing time - even it it is just for listening to the waves crash when you go to sleep. The wi-fi is good, but not in my room, but then again, you don't need too much wi fi in your room when you are on holiday. I just needed to go upstairs for wi fi coverage, but that was the only thing that was a bit of an effort. For drinking water, I would recommend you buy some at the local Garage, which is really not too far (I could easily walk there) - PS and the pool was nice and clean too ;-)

Beautiful place and wonderful owner

Einfach nur perfekt, das zweite mal schon. Das Shining Waters Guest House das von Jon und seinem Team betrieben wird ist schlichtweg der Wahnsinn! Morgens gibt es eine sehr gutes Frühstück mit selbstgebackenen Leckereien, Eiern, Cerealien usw.Wir waren eine Gruppe aus 5 Personen (alles Paragleiter) und für diesen Menschenschlag ist das Shining Waters besonders attraktiv da es über der Straße einen Startplatz gibt. Geübte Piloten können dort auch landen ;-)Zur Ausstattung: Es gibt einen Pool, Terassen mit tollem Ausblick auf den Ozean, einen immer gefüllten Kühlschrank mit Getränken.Zimmer sind sehr sauber und wurden jeden Tag gereinigt.Jon ist sehr hilfsbereit und versucht alles in seiner Macht stehende zu tun um seine Gäste zu verwöhnen. Er macht Reservierungen und gibt Tipps für Ausflüge. Es gibt auch 2 Hunde. Luna und Prinz sind sehr gut erzogen und holen sich jeden Tag ihre Streicheleinheiten von den Gästen ab :-)
