I backed this on kickstarter in 2018. Got updates about why I hadn’t received the product till 2021 update number 37 no less!. Never kicked up a fuss because I genuinely thought they would honour their commitment. I never received a product. Hard to say it’s not just a flat out scam when the company is well established. Pretty average with people who gave you genuine money to get started.

There are few things worse than realising that you forgot to arm your alarm when you are out. Olarm gives you the peace of mind necessary in South Africa. Plus the ability to give people access for a limited time is super useful for guests (eg Airbnb that needs to give access to guests for the days that they are there but doesn't want to have to change the alarm code every time guests leave). Super happy with my Olarm.

We are on our third Olarm - the first one stopped working after just more than a year - we were told we had to upgrade to a new one since 2G would be discontinued soon - the second one stopped working within a week, and the third one is more Offline than Online - very frustrating! You basically can never trust that it will work! And it is NOT related to loadshedding, we have UPS from which it runs.

Love the product! Only downside is their support. I have seen a few reviews here complaining about the support. It really is something they need to address soon. Despite the great product, people will start leaving if they can't get even the most basic of questions answered satisfactorily. Imagine having to ask a business how you are supposed to pay them? Then being sent a document that is almost 18 months old referring to pages on the app that were obviously upgraded ages ago and don't exist any more. Very shoddy!

Its a great device and app. My concern is that they should inform you before purchasing the device there will be a monthly or yearly subscription fee and they can lock the device if you don't pay up. Basically holding you to ransom. If they can lock the device that means they have access to my alarm and can monitor my comings and goings which is a great concern for my families safety.

How can an alarm company ONLY help you during business hours??? My app gives a lot of issues and the bypass function doesn't work and when I was trying to reset the alarm so that the keypad and light doesn't blink anymore it completely wiped our apps on all our phones. So can't even use the app to stop the alarm from goimg off during loadshedding. The alarm goes off each time the the power comes back on and they don't even call me to ask what is wrong anymore...

I purchased an Olarm and installed it on my IDS64 panel. I noticed there are programmable outputs on the app, so figured I could automate my garage door. I asked around and approached some alarm suppliers, and I was offered GSM devices and complex and expensive systems. I then did my own research and managed to automate my garage wirelessly with a R70.00 Transmitter wired to a PGM output on my Alam panel. I am a complete novice but with much research I managed to do it myself. I am extremely satisfied with my Olarm, and excited to automate some devices.
