Was greeted by our very sweet waiter Eddie. Can not complain at all about the service.I was absolutely gutted when I arrived to find that majority of their dishes that I viewed on reviews were no longer available.We were a party of 8 and I was not at all impressed with the taste - presentation was good thoughI ordered the testing platter of fish of which only the fish cake and calamari was a winner.Curry - spices was not really cooked through and if you sensitive to heart burn - be careful.Dessert was average, edible but not the best I had

Great food! Great service!!! Had the sushi and it tasted so fresh! Loved it! Also had the Chicken pillow pasta. Was expecting penne or spaghetti but got ravioli. Was a nice surprise though. Would certainly be back!

The Green Peppercorn Bistro
We had lunch at the Green Peppercorn and enjoyed it thoroughly. I had a chicken wrap which was very tasty and the chips were really good. My husband had, according to him, the best burger he ever had. The sauce and the onions on the burger was really delicious. The staff is really friendly and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was really very relaxing, with a good vibe. Definitely worth a visit.

We had sushi as a starter. The sushi was very good. Mains, we ordered from the tasting platter selection. I found the food served was quite average, especially since the tasting platter is quite pricey. The platter is supposed to come with wine pairing but we were not told that by the waiter, we had to ask. We had the tasting platter dessert board which was quite good. All round the food was not what I expected and I was not impressed, as I have eaten here before a few years ago and was really impressed. Seems things have gone down a bit since then.

Green Peppercorn doesn't disappoint. We each had an 8 item tasting platter which comes with complimentary wine for only R460. Aside from being good value for money, the food is excellent.I highly recommend the honey and ginger lamb chop as a meat option, the dim sum and the seared tuna. Excellent delicately balanced flavour combinations.

I’ve been coming here for years and love the dim sum the most. Service is always good. Menus are on tablets. The dim sum wrappers are in different colours. My most recent visit a few days ago I noticed they now have gluten-free dim sum! The four mini tasting desserts are delicious too. It’s fine dining with everything beautifully presented and totally ok to pop in for lunch on your own.

Walking down restaurant lane at Morningside shopping center, The Green Peppercorn is the last one you encounter and we would have almost turned and gone back to another one, had it not been for our good natured waiter. So service, tick. Ambience is laid back with comfortable seating. If you have kids, they are welcomed.... just remember to specifically ask about options for them as it's not on the menu. The chips were made shoestring and dusted with a special vinegar based spice. Delicious!! Chicken strips are crispy. We found the pork sausages slightly pasty. My drink of a freshly squeezed apple juice base with raspberry, kiwi and lychee was so refreshing. It's a build your own drink which was fun. We had a mixed dim sum plate which was presented elegantly and devoured whimsically. The best of the 7 for us were the beef brisket claw and pork dumpling. The only one we did not enjoy was the salmon one which was very strong in flavor and was likely a personal preference. The mains were presented under closhes and revealed at the table in a playful presentation. The baby kinglip prawn is massive, delicious and made to perfection. It glides off the fish bone. It's accompaniments of barley, cabbage, spinach and croquettes are a good balance. We asked for some chilli for our own taste buds which was delivered as chopped chillies in a a chilli powder slurry base. We thought it would be strange but was oddly perfect. The chicken pillows were beautiful and well enjoyed. But the dish of the day was the spinach and mushroom tortellini. The sauce was flavourful, the colour was vibrant, the filling was wholesome and the overall meal was well crafted. The only criticism I can give is the pasta was a bit thicker than I would have liked. But it was a flaw I was willing to discount as I looked to clear the plate. They have large portion sizes which is great for their prices. I did not feel short changed. Well worth a visit!!!

Really disgusted and disappointed by the management of this establishment.We made a booking for Valentine’s Day, tried to call in to say we are running a few mins late, with no answer.Nevertheless we got to the restaurant, it was extremely busy and it was clear capacity on Valentines Day was not thought of.No maitre d or management in sight to assist customers coming in. We took a seat among a bunch of angry customers who had not been served yet.We asked the waiter how long the food would take as we could see the disgruntled customers all around us. In the total near 2 hours that we waited for our food, we watched waiters being shouted at, customers storming out, people threatening to leave without paying and again no manager or owner in sight to deal with this havoc.I’m not going to blame the waiters because this was a clear lack of management. The only food that went out was sushi (really hope these chefs are given a bonus) - if it wasn’t for the sushi coming out, I am convinced more people would have left.We waited nearly 2 hours for our food and even left before we could get everything because it was already 22:00.There was a clear lack of preparation for one of the busiest days of the year. Not sure how a owner can leave his restaurant in this state.Within the 3 hours that we were there, we watched over 10 people get up and leave and go next door.The waiters did try their best but this ultimately came down to a lack of management and oversight.This is extremely disappointing especially considering this is meant to be a somewhat “luxury” dining experience. Really hope the owner steps up or finds another business venture.Thank you to our waiter who goes as “Mr.Big Mac” for trying his best despite the circumstances.Would not recommend especially on holidays, food is good but not worth the drama.

Delicious food coupled with impeccable service made eating here such a pleasure! The pork belly was one of the best iv ever had ,succulent with crispy crackling the duck was also delicious and the starter was a great selection of well paired various detectable morsels of goodness...the tasting menu is a great way to have a taste adventure!
