Camps Bay Tidal Pool
Camps Bay tidal pool and surrounds ( basically the rocks around the pool) provides an atmosphere of sheer joy and comfort, when watching the sunset. Perfect picnic spot, perfect for a dip, whether it is day or night (late evening). It's pretty, massive and ideal for kiddies as well. It gets deeper as you walk towards the edge which is cool for adults. One of the awesome spots to visit in Cape Town, even at night as the stores are directly opposite the Tidal pool. Toilets are nearby, but I'll always use the restaurant.

Gorgeous little spot to enjoy a swim at Camps Bay without facing those slightly intimidating big waves on the main beach. The pool fills naturally with sea water and you’re swimming next to the waves, but it’s lovely and calm. Changing area is old but clean so you can slip out of your swimmers to be ready for lunch at one of the great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend - it’s just a short Uber ride from CT centre.

This is a lovely tidal pool. Offers parents the comfort of knowing the kids are safe. There’s some sand as well for the kids to play with, which isn’t an issue for when they run into the water.

Water temperature: brutal. Brace yourself for a few minutes of mind numbing immersion and you will start enjoying the torture. But do get out before hyperthermia kicks in, have a hot coffee and a laugh. Envigorating stuff.

If you are looking so somewhere with warmer water to swim I would recommend going to this tidal pool. There are toilets and outdoor showers located close by. Unfortunately it tends to be busy at times and the is lots of litter around. Would recommend going in the morning or in the evening. Nice place to also just sit and sip your feet in the water

Perfect spot for a post hike or run dip in the ocean, but also great for a family outing with kids. Nice little beach area as well as lawns for pic-nics. The area is well maintained, there are neat public toilets and changing facilities and outdoor showers to rinse off after your dip. There is ample parking around and as the police station is close by so there is generally some security presence around which makes this feel like a safe space to go for a solo swim as a woman. Sunsets are also great from here...

Icy Copd water but perfect to bring the kids and family. Beach has tiny broken shells that could be hard on the feet. The water is ice cold so best to let the brave people do the swimming
