SASSA LOCAL OFFICE RAISETHORPE

It was a bit overcrowded, no social distancing. Shortage of staff left many sick and elderly people waiting for hours without food or drinks. Many people just waiting for an application sat for 4hrs just to collect a piece of paper.One doctor was overwhelmed with the assessment of over 60 people.It needs more order and planning , and a better triage system.

How is it that the most unhelpful and arrogant people end up being in positions where you need to help others? They would rather waste time telling you why they can't do something rather than doing something useful. Can't even answer a simple question without babbling on about things that have no relevance to the question you asked.

Poor. They need to assist us the public as our elders cannot stand there whole day.

IThing about sassa poor people sick people old people have to endure waiting outside in rain freezing weather for office to open which is inhumane

Make wait from 3 in morning to tell u come the next day

I can give them a minus zero.. absolutely horrible experience.The staff are rude and have no sort of manners.we tried doing everything the legal way but got turned away.Have witnessed the amount of bribery that goes on ,and those people had their way easily. Absolutely disgusted.

This office needs some work in terms of thr following:1. Booking visitors/applicants in by perhaps assigning numbers to each person to avoid the chaos I experienced yesterday of people pushing their way through even over thd elderly to cut the queue.2. A system to increase turnaround times without having to wait for staff to screen all applications before commencing to assist anyone. Arrived at the office at 6.45am, was advised of its offline status at around 9am. Was finally assisted at 1h45pm which process took approximately 5mins.3. Visitors toilets, cleanliness of the windows, floors, ceiling fans, light fittings and walls are desperately in need of attention, cleaning and an upgrade. Some fresh paint will improve the general appearance of the place.The only positive was the assistance rendered by Mrs. Mdunge who was understanding and experienced, and efficient once I finally reached her. She was well presented and adds some professionalism to the otherwise dreary place.

*Personel is very helpful .. *disabled parking is only 1..*accessibility and parking is confusing...*steps, uneven and furrowed access walkways/pavements are unfriendly for elderly and disabled people....*maybe a notice, stating time and what applications are processed on which days, would help..*this info, is not available on the website... are all offices the same? *Phoning beforehand did not clarify this either...*although arriving on a day not specified for a particular grant application, I was still compassionately helped by a lady and told to come back on a Monday or Tuesday...
