Grand View Bed & Breakfast

After a booking at another hotel in Braamfontein didn't work out, my colleagues and I arrived at Grand View's doorstep with the hope of finding rooms on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we were booked in in no time.Accommodation is very affordable. The rooms, and the guesthouse in general was very clean and neat.It should be noted that they only make cereal available for breakfast and that (instant)coffee and tea is only available in the kitchen, and not in the rooms, nor did the rooms have fridges. For us it wasn't a problem really, as we just needed a place to sleep for a couple of nights.The area (Brixton)felt much quieter and safer than the other suburbs in the surrounding area.Lastly, the name is very fitting as the view of Sandton and surround areas are stunning from the guesthouse.If I ever need a place to stay in the area again, I will definitely return. Good value for money.

A good place to rest at an affordable price. The exterior does need to be repainted. But overall not a bad place at all. When you go inside everything changes, it is a beautiful place to be.

The place is horrible. I even had to leave early after moving rooms twice because the toilet wa not working in the first room I opted for. Now I had to pay more money to be given another room because I was not happy with the room I am was gonna spend 3nights in. The room I opted for had nothing. Just a bed, and was too small, Wi-Fi not working. The other room I moved to had a smaller bed and uncomfortable bed, the tv was not working and the room was not comfortable at all. I had to leave after two nights even when I paid for 3 nights. That’s how uncomfortable the place was. One thing they are good with is cleaning, but it’s not up to standard.

The place is nice and tidy but could do with exterior paint , it’s in a quite area . The staff cleans daily without fail, disappointed to see how raggedy their uniform is though, it’s quite bad . The breakfast is only cereal , and that really sucks . But it’s a pretty decent stay despite that .

My friends and I booked for 3 nights and ended sleeping for one night and requested a refund for the rest of the nights. This was due to the fact the place was falsely advertised and it is situated in a shady neighborhood. Also, we requested a cottage that stayed 3 people, we ended up getting 2 separate rooms; one downstairs and one upstairs we also shared a kitchen with everyone including staff members. There was no privacy, hence we had to request a refund. I wouldn't recommend anyone that wants to have fun and be free not to book at this accommodation.

It's a quiet peaceful nice place, really had fun

So the rooms and bathrooms were good sizesHowever built in such a way that they feel like saunas.Boiling hot n lack of aircon made the situation worse.Cleanliness in some of the rooms we had booked was very bad.Only room we enjoyed fully was the cottage airconed and with kitchenwhere we all eventually slept and left the other rooms empty

The place could do with some exterior painting, when we got there the pool wasn't that clean. The ladies were super friendly, and the rooms were clean but didn't have fridge and kettle. There was a leakage in one of the rooms we booked in so we used 1 room to shower in. I wouldn't recommend the place for a vacation with friends coz they too strict, no music and hubbly allowed and they switch off the lights at 11, I'd recommend it if you wanna take your side chick/guy there

Host was very helpful and accommodating. When we had an issue with our room, she gave us another room and an additional few hours added on to our stay an no additional cost. Excellent customer service.
