Unfortunately, I accidentally broke a bottle in the store. Accidents happen so I didn’t expect the manager to make me pay for it. Hoped a “sorry” would be enough.

Shop is great, but like others in Cape Town, the price is expensive for souvenir. But the thing is that this shop is very complete and have various of good quality stuff.

Contacted this store to check on product availability before I fly and was connected with two members of front line staff that were rude and incompetent. I eventually (after 20 min) managed to talk to the store manager who was very apologetic and promised it wouldn't happen ever again". Not a great experience for what is supposed to be an international shop. The prices are also much higher than in a regular shop downtown. How can that be when there is a massive duty on alcohol and they are "duty free". It's a ripoff! CEO of the company

Bains Mountain Whisky is 299.00 everywhere in Cape Town. Duty free shop sells it for 335.00 The small difference is not the issue but staff attitude is. Completely overpriced.

excellent customer service. The wine man went out of his way to get me a deal. I know it is part of the selling game but I really did get a good deal! Not the best selection of wines. I wish they had Fairview!

Great prices on alcohol, gouging on sweets. Doesn't add up really. But we got what we wanted. Staff were pleasant enough, given the many ignorant travellers they have to deal with. Liked the protective sleeves used to stop bottles clinking in hand luggage and the descent sealed bags.

Purchased alcohol at DUFRY duty free shop in Istanbul, and showed my South African passport. Told him I would be in transit in Qatar, and would this liquor in my hand luggage (which per customs in RSA is permitted) pass through Qatar uneventfully. He assured me there would not be a problem.The bottle was confiscated and destroyed in Qatar by Qatar Police. Maximum liquid size is 100 mls. The agent in Istanbul clearly should be aware of this, working in an international airport duty free shop. Beware.
