Staying in Cape Town on a vacation from the US. Found ourselves in Wynberg and tried the Fish House. Wow! Fish was fresh and delicious. Cooked perfectly. Much better than we had at the V&A. We shared a pizza and it was amazing, too. Owner was very nice and made sure we had a great experience. Will definitely go back before we return to the States.

The fish was okay. It tasted fresh.However the batter on the fish was tasteless.The chips were not nice at all, they were hard like they had been rewarmed a few times. They are more like Spur chips than the traditional fish and chips (Slup Chips) You would expect.I do not see the value for money when comparing there hake and chips to Monte Carlo Fisheries on Ottery road. At Monte Carlo Fisheries the fish is always fresh and tasty.You also get double the amount of chips and a bigger tastier portion of fish for less money at Monte Carlo Fisheries.I am new to this area and decided to take the chance. I will however rather drive 10 minutes extra to Ottery as this place does not compare at all.

I ordered calamari,chips and a hake fillet.The calamari and chips were drowning in oil but they were atleast edible.I will let the picture of the hake do the talking.What a waste of money on disgusting food.This is not my first bad experience with this place but I decided to give them another try.I regret that.

The portions are too small for what you spend. Plumstead Fisheries portions are much larger for the price.

Recently traveling from the US and decided to give this place a try. Our food was fantastic! Fish, calamari, chips ... even the pizza was delicious. Business was very clean and service was prompt and friendly. Very pleased with our experience. Can't wait to get back as soon as possible!

When buying a fish and chip roll I don't want an overpriced overloaded chip roll with a pathetic luke warm little piece of fish hidden amongst the chips.

Food is freshly cooked while you wait, or order via WhatsApp, which is a plus factor as it is not pre cooked & left to dry out.Snoek & chips are lovely. Haven't tried anything else yet
