Hog Hollow Horse & Carriage Trails

My wife and I went on a half day couples horse riding package on 13 July 2022; my wife ended up with an accident, losing part of her panceas and broken ribs. She was hospitalised for a month and is still recovering after six months.Before signing up, we were reassured that the horses were tamed for new riders but found that there were lack of safety measures. The horse trainer, Watson forced the horses to take the route with the farm pigs even though the horses were clearly scared of the pigs. Because of this, our horses ran away in fright, throwing all of us off their back. After my wife fell off the horse and couldn't move with severe pain, the manager, Robyn was still reluctant to call ambulance until we insisted repeatedly.After the accident, we asked them twice to review their safety protocol to prevent future accidents but they didn't reply. Hence, we are writing this public review. Beware!Note: This company operates at Kurland Park (Kurland town) and have changed names.

Great day horse riding to a beautiful lunch spot (great wine and tapas). The horses where gentle and the guides knowledgeable.

Great place. Guides very friendly. Horses well looked after. Trails are beautiful. I went on an hour's walk out w my daughter and husband (we didn't realise it was a walk out when we booked). When one of the guides (Owen, from Zim) found out we could ride he quickly arranged for us to do a little trot so we weren't 'bored'.

It was a great first time experience with my lil one.... The host was very welcoming and encouraging!

Fabulous experience! Robyn is so patient with beginner riders and adept at matching horses with the temperament to suit their riders. Incredibly scenic trails. Now known as Kurland Park Horse Trails, this is one to come back to do again!

Hogs Hollow Horse and Carriage is now Kurland Horse Trails. My Daughter and I went on the two hour trail with Robyn and we had an amazing experience. The horses are excellent and the trail through the natural Forrest is an experience like no other. Highly recommend it.

Had a super 2 hour trail ride in December.Picturesque environment with polo fields and paddock filled with horse everywhere!!Went up the mountain, in the forest and had a fun little canter in the fields.The horses were very good at keeping us all safe through the mud and over bridges-

We went for horseback riding on the 13th of October 2020 as we were rushing to catch a flight back to Joburg. our guide was so friendly and informative. our horses were perfect. more than anything I enjoyed the trails, they're so clean, peaceful.

We booked the Picknick tour and it was absolutely fantastic. We had such a great and lovely guide called Collins! We ever kept an eye on us and our safety. My wife is a pro rider and I am an absolutely beginner but that was never a problem because of Collins. We had much fun together while we were out. The Picknick at kurkland was awesome and we had time to relax. We saw so much like forest with monkeys, ranches, vineyards, polo fields and that big stable. We really enjoyed. Thanks to Collins and the team!
