High Palms (HPK) kite school

I have been with a few instructors. It was an awesome experience being a student of High Palms (JJ & Elvira)... Highly recommended.I drove to Langebaan from Tableview each session but if that's too far for you, they've got a fabulous (really fancy and affordable!!!) guest house (bed & breakfast) where you can stay during you're KiteSurfing training period. Unfortunately I broke my ankle doing Abseiling (Rock climbing) at Waterfalls... but will return for extra KiteSurfing training when I recovered in a few months.

I had my first kite surfing lesson at HPK and what a fantastic experience it was.The safety drills and kite control was explained and demonstrated very clearly.At no time did I feel overpowered or nervous, both instructors are experienced professionals who give a fully hands on lesson.There is no better place to learn than the Langebaan Lagoon with its large beaches, flat water and steady wind.Thank you to the crew at High Palms Kiting , I will be booking my next couple of lessons soon.

Big thumbs up to Elvira for her kindness and integrity! I wasn't a customer (yet) and have never met her but I lost my board kiting in the area and I reached out to all the kite schools with a picture in hopes it would be recovered. Elvira was the link that connected me to the person that found it! This gesture really speaks for the kind of people at HPK. Thank you so much!

I went to HPK with my wife just for a one day breakaway. We felt very warmly welcomed by Elvira and we had a brilliant stay (very good value for money)!We are planning to come back. Than we consider to take our kids with for them to attend one of Elvira's and JJ's kite surfing classes.Thanks a lot for your hospitality!

Elvira and JJ are wonderful hosts! The guesthouse was spacious, clean and had a very nice ambiance. Next time I’m in Langebaan I will definitely stay here again. I also had kite lessons from JJ which were awesome. He really knows what he is doing, is very positive and fun and got me from learning the water start to riding upwind and transitioning within the week. Thanks for the wonderful week Elvira and JJ!!

I had the absolute best time at High Palms Kite school! The instructors are amazing, I've progressed so much and they have headseats which is super cool! The rooms are spacious, super clean and it makes you feel like at home:) Thanks Elvira and JJ!! I will be back:)

This guesthouse and the kite surf school attached to it are absolutely fabulous! The house itself is beautifully furnished and decorated, with great little additions such as quirky paintings in the wardrobe. The beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast served in the morning is delicious! Don and Elvira are brilliant kite surfing instructors as well as hosts, and have incorporated thoughtful touches with the kite school as well, such as a great outdoor shower for rinsing off after lessons.

After working in Langebaan as a kite instructor 10 years ago and returning every year since to kite I can honestly say this is one of the best guest houses in Langebaan.Initially we had planned to stay a week but loved the place so much we ended up staying 2 months!The house is fully equipped as a kite house. Put your wetsuit on in your bedroom, grab your kite from the kit store and walk to the beach........... Once you finish your session there is a hot outside shower and a special area to wash and dry your kit.Don and Elvira couldn't be any nicer. They literally bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. On the odd days there was no wind we could hire SUP's to play in the small waves off North Beach. I even got to take a couple of foil lessons with Don on the lighter wind days.The house itself was great! It was very clean and comfortable and had all the facilities needed when on a long stay.The kite school which is attached to the house has all the latest equipment to take lessons on, rent or buy.I am very excited by the plans they have for next year and we have already booked our stay for 2019!Rich + Alex

Great experience for a winter-break in Langebaan. Hosts were lovely and accommodating, the location of the property was literally a road away from the beach, and the property itself was warm, inviting and had everything one needed (WiFi, electric blankets, whole kitchen for personal use etc.). Breakfast was scrumptious and too!
