Dr John Bauermeister

Today I was there for a tooth extraction, Dr. Bauermeister is a very friendly person. He is explaining everything what he is doing. I would definitely come back and can highly recommend him.

I recently returned to Somerset West after living abroad for a few years. To my horror, a few weeks ago, I managed to pull out a filling while flossing. Impressed by Dr Bauermeisters unbroken chain of 12 x 5-star reviews, I thought that this, perhaps, is a man I could probably trust with injecting nerves that close to my brain.And I wasn't disappointed. The location itself is very central in a quiet street just off main road. The atmosphere of the clinic is quite serene with classical music playing gently in the lobby and at the chair. Dr Bauermeister himself is well groomed, friendly, and gives the distinct impression that he cares and wanted me to have as-good-an-experience-as-possible.He gave me an injection, which didn't really hurt at all. He then took a few X-rays to make sure that the root canal I said had been done on my tooth had actually been done... and discovered that I was wrong! (Good thing he checked.) He cleaned around my tooth, applied the new resin filling, and took extra care and time to make sure that the surface was well polished, smooth and level.All-in-all, I couldn't ask for better. The only really uncomfortable part was that some of his instruments felt a bit big in my mouth... (OMG! Did I just say that.) It might have put me a little more at ease had he provided a more guided narration, but that could just as easily annoy someone else. Therefore, with no obvious room for improvement, I happily bestow Dr Bauermeister with another 5-star review!When the times comes, I'll go back to Dr Bauermeister.Dr Bauermeister, keep up the good work!

After going into his room I could instantly tell he wasn't in a good mood. He wasn't open to me sharing my concerns and just wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible. He was very jittery and he seemed very angry. He wasn't open to speaking to me about my concerns and what to tackle first as there were a few things that needed attention. I asked him a few questions and he responded to each with very short choppy answers. I am a very soft, gentle person, and found his venting on me inappropriate and terribly unprofessional. I felt uneasy throughout the whole experience but the last straw was before he started drilling he dropped an unsettling comment requesting I not get involved in his work. I got up immediately and left with a numb mouth and he charged me R1300.I cannot comment on his work, as we didn't get that far but his nature was one of arrogance and a bully. I feel it is important for me to let others know, especially if you are someone who values a good nature in a service provider.

John is the best. For my last two appointments I wasn't even charged. Much appreciated in these financially tough times. We need more people like this in the world! Friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

Best dentist in town! Works very efficiently with diligence and care. Also very kind and friendly every time you visit. Also a very relaxed environment with music and a large window.

He is one of the worst dentists I've been to, he ruined my sensitivity of my tooth. His assistant isn't very hygienic as she answered the phone and passed the equipment with the same gloves. I do not recommend anyone going to him. I cannot give him a 0 star but I would.

I have been a patient of John for many years. I am a complicated patient, who cannot lie in the chair for more than 15 minutes and need breaks in between. Not many dentists would handle my anxiety with such a lot of patience, humor and understanding. Thank you John :-) Eventhough I never look forward to coming to your surgery, you are a great dentist!

Had a very pleasant experience at Dr Bauermeister. He and his assistant were very friendly. Dr Bauermeister is very thorough and he explained everything he did. The environment is super relaxed. I won't go to a different dentist.

Excellent dentist! Had to get a tooth pulled after avoiding dentist visits for a couple of years. Dr. Bauermeister did a great job of talking me through the process; it was done with little fuss and even less guilt about leaving it for so long. I feel less apprehensive about regular check ups now.
