H&M is a 25% company for removals, that is, expect 75% probability of damage or loss to your goods. Check the stats and comments, and not once has H&M replied on Hellopeter; that is 100% ignoring customers and showing their attitude towards them and their good.Ours was a smallish load of furniture with no packing, and removal East London to Cape Town as a shared load. The worries started in East London when only two guys arrived to load. The driver said the others were lazy. The two tried to load a piano with immense difficulty; I helped. Three items were wrapped with bubble wrap which cost R1550. That's 250m of wrap at a price that we bought some. They could have used only 20m. One would think that wrapping is there to protect furniture, but not for H&M - it was a bad wrap.We took delivery on Friday after the furniture was off-loaded onto another truck. The Otto Bach piano was damaged with wood chipped off. A heavy object was placed on top of the piano causing the casing in front to split on the bottom. Absolutely no idea how to move a piano after 30 years of boasted experience. Other pieces of furniture had broken off. There was evidence of how plastic crates had been roughly loaded or dropped.Think very carefully and read the reviews before your use H&M Removals.

I'm totally disgusted, I entrusted my furniture for storage. When I fell back on payments I was threatened that they would auction my goods. I eventually scrapped the outstanding monies together to settle and have them deliver to my home to find out that they have billed me incorrectly, that initially some of my payments made, were not reflected and then to be told that the full and final outstanding figure given was incorrect. I am now told after being under the impression that I was up-to-date and that my furniture would be delivered on Monday 10th April that there's an additional fee of R2344.11 outstanding. And we call ourselves ethical?

Chaotic admin with poor communication. I was billed interest due to late payment on an invoice I never received as accounts misspelled my email address.

Had the worse experience using this company in April 2023. I used them for my relocation from Cape Town to Durban. About 26 Boxes and 1 glass server. Goods arrived in such a bad condition. Boxes that were marked fragile were torn and dented as if it was being thrown around. Expensive glassware that was wrapped in thick bubble wrap was chipped and broken. Glass mirror server was completely shattered and bent. Do not use this company as they not professional at all unless you use THIER insurance companies.

Made a phone enquiry, and I was completely blown away with their positive and friendly attitude. Definitely going to use themIn the near future.

I moved from Durban to Cape Town on the 26 May 2023, I had the best service from H & M Removals, from the time I contacted them by email for a quote, Yolandi at the Westmead office in Durban, went out of her way to help me, them they arrived at my home in Durban, the workers where very professional and helpful, they delivered my furnisher at the storage unit in Cape Town and all the workers where fantastic.I just want to say Thank You to everybody involved of H & M RemovalsL. H&M was chosen as the delivery partner for an item I had manufactured. Did not call before delivery as arranged through the manufacturer and could not perform the delivery. They also could not provide a date or time for the delivery (according to the manufacturer). Only has a weekly cycle to a main area (Somerset West). Did not return calls and made zero effort to solve the problem caused by their own actions. Offered that I can collect from their warehouse...missing the point of using a delivery service. Fortunately there are more capable and professional options.

Very disappointed with the service received. H&M was booked through our moving company, Durban Moving Company, to collect our items from Durban and deliver them to Cape Town. Items were broken and our coaches arrived soaking wet. Many boxes had been tampered with and a valuable item had been stolen. H&M's response to the theft and damaged items has been extremely disappointing.

I used H&M to transport a scooter from DBN to CT. The quote and service was good until the scooter arrived and the mirror had been snapped off in transit. H&M accepted responsibility but were only willing to cover half the cost of repair. They asked for my account details 3 months ago but despite repeated follow ups have failed to make payment.

I used them to store items and because the service was so amazing I used them when I moved house. The storage is so easy - they came to my house and loaded a box ( so carefully ) and I got to lock it with my own paddlock - they then took it away to store for me. They will deliver it when needed or when I need something I can call ahead and they will have the storage box ready for me to open and collect the items I need. Clever concept. Box is huge and contain alot more than I thought. Service levels of sales staff and the staff member who do the collecting were amazing.
