Wavecrest Hotel & Spa

I would give 3.5 out of 5. Rooms are dated ,but we weren't given the new rooms. Food was average, but edible. Staff were friendly. The location can't be beaten- between the sea and the mouth of a river. So much to do as well and great for kids

Nothing to complain about this spot. Great view and very lovely staff are the standouts.

A lovely venue with its excellent rivers and beach - as good as it gets. A very nice couple managing it. The room was clean and had a great view. But the whole experience was spoilt by food which was just not up to scratch. Some of the dinners were positively awful. The chef was given a lovely big fish caught that day, to prepare for us for the evening. He absolutely ruined it - it was only just edible - curled up and tough as nails. He did the same to every bit of meat coming out of his kitchen - absolutely ruined it! I am not sure that there is a qualified chef in that kitchen - he/she certainly knows how to ruin good produce. And then there is the road to the place - it is really bad. Most of the guests are hikers who arrive and leave along the beautiful beach.

They are extremely unprofessional. 3 people nearly died, they had no complete first aid kit. Be careful of where you choose to stay. I am extremely disappointed!!

Fantastic get away with lovely friendly staff. Tranquility and best views the wild coast has to offer. A well kept runway is a added bonus.

This place is a hidden gem. What a lovely setting, good service, friendly staff and some of the best nature has to offer. Gogo is at the heart of the kitchen and food has seldom tasted this good. It all feels like a treat! It is a pity the only gravel access road is not maintained in any way (unfortunately true for practically all Eastern Cape Roads), so be prepared to bounce around in your vehicle and drive very slowly (we managed 35 km in an hour). But by the next morning that is guaranteed to be forgotten...

The best hotel on our trip! Magnificent location with views of the sea and river mouth from the rooms. Food was good, staff very friendly, and there was a spa where we had a great massage. There is also an air strip for easy access. Great wifi and generator for loadshedding. 5 star!
