Walter Carter's have been a part of the Eastern Suburbs forever and so it was not any other consideration when my mother died suddenly.Having discussed the subject with Mum and knowing what she wanted, we came to Carter's to make arrangements. Because Mum's wishes were quite eccentric in regard to who should officiate, music, what could be divulged and displayed and definitely no flowers, we expected to have to compromise on many issues.Not only did Steve and then Richard and Chris accept our wishes, but they then embraced the challenge and actually enhanced the service.All of Mum's friends commented on how much the funeral reflected her bohemian values. I would recommend Walter Carter without hesitation. In the weeks before my partner died at home and in the months afterwards, nothing was too much trouble. Staff were kind, considerate, respectful and knowledgeable. Richard in particular, was exceptional in the weeks before, at the time of death and with the organisation of the funeral, which was perfect, despite being held during a COVID lockdown. Months afterwards, Richard is still being extraordinarily kind and helpful.

All I can say is that you couldn't ask for a better team to help you through such a sad time!Dealing with death is always difficult and a very personal experience - and these covid times makes it even more complicated... After 2 weeks in quarantine (my mum died 2 days before I was released) my brother and I chose Walter Carter Funerals as they had come so highly recommended by friends.From the start when Chris arrived to pick up mum, to the end of the service overseen by Richard, we have nothing to fault; only praise to give!We wanted something simple and natural and every request was met. We needed maximum capacity and they not only arranged a chapel with 50 inside and 50 out, but also did a beautiful live stream for all mum's friends and family around the globe (or the ones we couldn't fit within the 100 limit) Everything we wanted was catered for and then some.If you want calm, efficient, professional but warm service, don't hesitate to go with this service!
