New National Hotel

Had a small conference and lunch. Even though the hotel is on a busy road, the road is not noticable when in the conference room, despite having direct access to the front of the hotel. The restaurant served homely, delicious food for lunch. While there is room for improvement, the New National is definitely on an upward trend.

The rooms are lovely. The location is central. The staff are absolutely amazing! Incredible service and friendliness. The restaurant serves some really nice food and the kitchen staff are super accommodating! I stayed here for a week and it was awesome!

Beautiful establishment with easy access to the airport, very well located within the central location of Cape Town.Good conferencing facility also.

The front desk staff were very friendly and the waiters were very friendly as well. Breakfast was ok.There's too much noise at nightyou can hear every move made in the corridorThe carpet in the passage is very dirty and dusty. Cleaning ladies they clean the rooms from 3pm when you plan to relax after a busy day sometimes they dont even put back the bedcover and pillows they leave them on the chair. Theres too much light from the windows you need to keep your curtains closed all the time. The towels have hair and marks. No soap. No tea. No sheets only the mattress protector and flat sheet to cover the protector then the bed cover.

The rooms are nice. But housekeeping is very bad. My room was not cleaned in one of the days I was there. My room light was off and they didn't even offer me another room. There was bits of hair all over everyday. The sheets were stained. The towels are not bleached. They looked brownish or yellowish... People driving through the gate need to hoot which can be quite annoying when you are sleeping. They don't give residents a remote to the gate. The male staff are not good at customer service, they need to employ females.

Food average, I couldn't get a key for the door due to a shortage? They hosted some union.. it was a DISASTER, the noise, drinking on the balcony and in the parking. Playing loud music and making a noise until 4h00 in the morning. One of the most horrible experiences ever. No control.

Still waiting for our rooms to be ready 5 hours after check in.Absolutely poor service.

Staff always friendly. Home away from home.
