River Manor Boutique Hotel

Greatest staff and lovely location but a few issues not seen in other Cape Town hotels. They do not have a power generator unlike other hotels. That is a problem for medical device users. Also, Wi-Fi goes out with electricity. No power outlet at the head of the table. Room heating is a bit weak.

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Stellenbosch. Walking distance to The Fat Butcher (A must for the most divine steaks)! and all the other local bars/restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even letting us store our surfboards/mountain bikes in a storage room. Loved the turn down service and all the in room amenities. Delicious breakfast! Overall it was incredible value for money and we would definitely stay again!!

More appearance than substance. Room had a safe that wasn't fixed to anything so you could pick it up and walk away with it. Shower was plumbed the wrong way round resulting in water wastage waiting for hot water to come through even though they were asking guests to save water (a simple sign would have resolved this). Breakfast omelette was so thin it was nearly burnt in the middle and had broken open.

A gorgeous, newly renovated boutique hotel, in a leafy street next to a river, yet only 5 minutes walk to buzzing Stellenbosch. Beautiful decor, complimentary after cake, & gin hour from 5.00pm. Two lovely pools with very comfortable sun loungers and pretty courtyard gardens. Perfect! However, what really makes the hotel is the professional helpful & friendly staff, lead by Samatha. Layman was readily available to pour the drinks and Kariemah was always around with her lovely smile and useful tips about where to visit. We had a slight problem with a leak appearing in our bathroom, but for us, it’s always how a problem is dealt with. We were quietly and efficiently moved to another (better room) and Stephnie helped us move things over in a matter of minutes. Brenda was also great. I think the lovely atmosphere of River Manor permeated through the guests, as we found all the guests lovely and extremely sociable. Congratulations to the owners Lorraine and Friedrich on creating yet another lovely establishment.

A lovely stay, the staff and team are very friendly and helpful at all times. Very convenient location with nice gardens and chill out spots. Good breakfast options and lots of outside eating options within a stone throw. The room I had as a little thin on amenities but the team tried to make up for this where possible. Yet again I would the value for money its a nice place but a little over priced for what you get.

Absolutely stunning accomodation in the heart of Stellenbosch. Easy walking to anywhere in town. Comfortable rooms, great breakky. The staff went above and beyond even surprising us with rose petals and bottle of terrific wine for our honeymoon.

No backup power but the staff make up for it by doing excellent breakfast and coffee first thing in the morning.

My problems with this hotel: room has a tiny window looking outside. It’s a real rent a room vibe.The room did not have a mini fridge which was quite a problem so we couldn’t store our cheeses or cool our wine.The WiFi does not exist in the room. It is so bad even the TV can’t pick it up for Netflix. Remote working is not an option.The door to the room is thin so light comes under and around it. Also it’s not sound proof so every morning people leaving the hotel at like 7 am and I woke up each morning.The corner you walk around to get to the centre of town always has homeless beggars which is uncomfortable- not much hotel can do to change that.Things I enjoyed: the staff are friendlyThe pool area is beautifulThe breakfast was goodThe price was fine.I think if a few of the things get fixed I mentioned then given the price the others can be overlooked.

Exceptional service from all staff members from the moment I walked in. I had an early check in and was offered breakfast, and then my room, well ahead of the 2pm slot I expected. Throughout my stay, staff were personable, very friendly, and all around helpful. The property is lovely, but it’s the atmosphere created by the staff that really makes it feel homey. I could not recommend this hotel enough.

What can we say! It was beautiful and location perfect. We want to go back!! Staff so helpful, good great.
