I’m not that into history and museums, but this stop had me intrigued. Also a perfect opportunity to find out from the locals where all the best spots are to stop while in Tulbagh.

Worth the visit. Beautiful inside church. The cemetery garden itself needs a clean though.

Fascinating, well laid out history of, not just the earthquake, but the development of Tulbagh, especially the designs of the buildings over the years. We were privileged to meet Annelie, who was 18 at the time of the quake who gave us a tour of the church as well.

Amazing to revived a earthquake of almost 50 years ago. It was a privilege.

The Museum is indeed interesting..I did however find that the displays are perhaps a bit outdated with far too much text!!

The Earthquake Museum is is a good first stop before walking down Church Street and enjoying the renovated properties.Well laid out, packed full of information and personal stories of the earthquake and rebuilding. The ticket for this museum gives access to all museums on the street.Buy an audio walking tour (voicemap) ahead of time and you'll be set for a lovely morning. No need to visit the Tourism Bureau next door - the two people behind the counter seemed to know less about the town than we did!

Inexpensive (R30 and it includes entrance to 4 houses in the street.)
