This is a great location, but the room was too small and did not have enough utensils. The breakfast was okay, I wish the breakfast was a buffet.

Amazing view, super comfortable rooms and very clean. We loved to stay here and recharge energies in this peaceful place. I fully recommend it and would stay again if I ever come back to this region!

Excellent place located in Clarens , with friendly staff.The owners Lallies and husband are extremely helpful ,friendly and kind people that would go out of their way to make your stay perfect. Always making you feel at home. It is a cozy home with nice fire places and great views of the mountains.Place is always clean and sanitized at all times.

Service not good. Firstly they seem irritated with their customers.They can definately be more accommodating. Especially with general requirements like ICE and maybe firewood for the chimneys that are there. It's not self catering not sure why we need to go buy outside our own if they have but not using it for the customers like its meant for. Did not mind being charged extra.

We arrived late because of bad road conditions, and when we called reception to open the gate, the woman who answered the phone said “but I am already in bed.” She was unbelievably rude when checking us in and spoke to us like we were irritating children. We had booked twin beds but were forced to share a bed anyway. Other staff members we met at breakfast were not as rude but acted like we were a burden. We waited a while for the saddest, smallest breakfast we had ever been served at a hotel or B&B. In the end, we felt overcharged for a bare minimum room and horrible breakfast. We left disappointed by our treatment there.

Perfect place, all very clean and organised. Beautiful view. Very confi beds, rooms with fridge, coffee and tea and even a small bottle of sherry. Bath with large tub and shower. Balcony and terrace with a breathtaking view

Always a pleasure to stay at Ash River Lodge.Thank you to our hosts for accommodating our cycling team with such care.Rooms were incredibly comfortable and well serviced. Breakfast was delicious and hospitality was excellent. We were particularly impressed that an inverter kept the lights and water on, so we were not majorly effected by loadshedding.See you next time.Liza

Well maintained lodge and gardens with friendly reception and service. Beautiful mountain views from deck. Rooms well equipped and comfy beds with electric blankets. Breakfast was served professional despite load shedding realities. Overall experienced it to be worth more than the price paid. Will definitely recommend!

Great BnB in an awesome little town that we stumbled upon on our way back to Cape Town from Kruger Park. Clarens is truly a gem! Ash river lodge is just perfect. Linen fresh and clean, hot shower and fab breakfast. Highly recommended.

Ash River Lodge Bed & Breakfast
My folks recently stayed at Ash River Lodge for their 50th wedding anniversary. We wanted to arrange something special for them upon arrival and I phoned the owner, Lallies to see if she would be able to assist. She really went out of her way to make their stay special and arranged a beautiful anniversary hamper. My parents were blown away by the warm welcome and really enjoyed their entire stay at Ash River Lodge. Thank you Lallies. You are amazing!
