What an unexpected treasure. We planned to stop over for the night en-route back home and had to extend another night. The GM, Charlene, was world class and we felt at home and spoiled. Our dinners were delicious and coupled with the tranquil back drop, it was just a phenomenal experience. As we stayed an extra night, we decided to explore the area and Andy, the owner, kindly gave us multiple suggestions and ended up planning our day for us. Personal and professional service usually found at 5 star establishments.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Mymering Estate recently! Andy and Penny with their new GM Charlene welcomed us (and all their other guests) personally with friendly smiles and chats. The food was prepared wonderfully and their staff is friendly and competent. The unit we stayed in was well appointed, lovely eclectic decor and the highlights must have been the bath with a view and the bed! Good taste and quality is something one can see the owners strive to uphold in all they offer at Mymering Estate! They add a lovely personal touch to your experience and the wines are delish! Definitely a spot to stay at least 2 nights so that you can immerse yourself in the karoo beauty around you, relax and maybe even enjoy a treatments at the Magic Mountain Spa, their very own open air spa! We'll definitely be back!

Had a great one night stay here. The owners are really nice and staff excellent. Wished we had stayed more than one night. Very interesting tour of the estate from the owner Andy. Meal in the evening was first class. It's very remote. Perfect for getting away from it all. Accommodation was really clean and very comfortable.

After a somewhat futile attempt at locating a place in or near Ladismith to do some wine tasting, we ended up following the advertisement boards leading us to Mymering Wines and oh my, what a jewel of a place! Our host made us feel right at home and even though after a busy weekend their supplies were running low, she managed to make us 3 delicious pizzas to snack on while enjoying a well presented wine tasting. She knows her stuff! We ended up finishing 2 bottles of their marvelous Sauvignon Blanc while listening to the owner / wine maker's rich and colourful stories drawn from a mixed bag full of wonderful adventures. 80 Years of life definitely well lived, Dr. Hillock! You guys absolutely made our day. Please do yourself a favour when visiting the region and take that turn off to Mymering. We certainly can't wait to return.

My sister and I stayed one night in May 2014. Penny & Andy are awesome. We drove up to a pack of dogs greeting us and were a little unsure what to expect. But the dogs are friendly, and they follow Andy everywhere he goes. They just adore Andy. Penny & Andy greeted us with big smiles. The cottage was nice, but not exquisite luxury. But quite adequate. We agreed to pay the for dinner, and that was the right call. I was half expecting something like reheated shepherds pie by the keeper's wife. No. Andy is a retired physician and keeps the winery as a hobby farm, which you can tell he enjoys. They keep a private chef on staff, and their chef has received awards in South Africa. The food was awesome! Andy was encouraging the chef to go to Paris to enter a competition there. He may not win, but he has a shot. I don't know if that ever happened. And we enjoyed some of the Mymering Estates Shiraz with our meal, which is excellent by the way.I brought my guitar with me from the U.S., and Andy insisted that I play. I played, we enjoyed music, wine, an evening of great conversation. I realize not everyone may experience the same great time we had, but it was the best.Andy and Penny treat their staff awesomely. Always a supportive word. They'd be great bosses. The next day, we walked the vineyards. Very nice. Breakfast was also excellent with lots of fresh fruit. And then we headed to our next destination. But we will always have fond memories of Penny and Andy. Thank you both for a memorable stay.

The venue is nice, although I felt the website pictures were cleverly taken(not what we saw on the website). The plunge pool was dirty, and we couldn't swim in it. The room has damp in it. We had a lovely 3 course meal for new year's. The owners were accommodating and pleasant.

We were touring Ladismith on Saturday 29April 2023 and were referred to your farm for a wine tasting experience. The poorest reception for the day in Ladismith. Your reception and ALL your staff were hudling around the counter ( so very busy) I was not even acknowledged and after I asked for service the so called receptionist gave a staff member a sheet of paper on your board because we wanted to taste your wine before purchasing ( and said ' sien jy na hulle' . The staff member tried her best, seated us, attended to the wine tasting ( big gaps in between) because she needed to assist with other things as well and even assist with our pizza order ( your staff went to lunch) . The receptionists NEVER made contact with us, not even a 'how are u doing' , are u visitors ? etc.Daar is n ou gesegde wat lees As die kat weg is

Really beautiful! We were so lucky to get a cancellation here and can highly recommend it. The Chef knows his trade, the food is top class, with small portions and beautiful presentation. Accommodation well-appointed, comfortable and private. Penny & Andy, owners and hosts, were super friendly and hospitable.

What an experience. The owner has some great stories to tell at dinner (a former pilot but also a doctor in medicine). You have dinner with the other guests and there is a chance to do a walk through their (wine)farm in the morning. Do that! Also it’s a great place for a little slowdown at the private pool of your room and to read a book while drinking a fine glas of their wine.
