Spectacular walks which can be as hard or easy and as long as what you choose. Never a boring day as there is so much of the forrest to explore. Spectacular views and great plant life. Always a winner for a hike. Parking available and dog friendly. Free entry

Newlands Forest is the most convenient way to experience the wonders of Cape Town's outdoors. The trails are relatively flat, with some variety by choice. Parking is easy and plentiful. There are lots of dogs, families, trail runners and mushroom hunters. I recommend going around sunset for the beautiful lighting which shimmers through the canopy of the pine trees.

Peaceful and absolutely beautiful surroundings. We did the easy trail. A little bit of an incline before it levels out until you get the stream flowing down the mountain. There are more strenuous trails, aided by steps and stones. Kid friendly and definitely dog friendly ☺️

Clean trails and felt very safe. Experience was good. The hike itself is pretty hard for a beginners with lots of trail runners. This trail is free for for all however parking can be a issue if you start late.

Newland Forest is so confusing, you really have to know this place well.I have started a few trails here before, starting on the contour path & I loved it. Here are some really cool memories of this past SaturdayWe did Papenboom-Traverse into Dark Gorge, descending Newlands Ravine.

Always enjoy a lovely walk in Newlands Forest, a great green escape close to the city. Quite a few hiking/walking trails of different lengths suited to walkers/trail runners of various fitness levels. No entry fee. Dogs allowed with a permit. Take enough water, snacks, all-weather clothing, sunscreen (even though it's mostly shaded) and fully charged cellphone. Best to go in a group, although I have seen solo hikers.Arrive early or hike in the afternoon to avoid parking issues.

A place where the myriad of little forest trails lead you on a new path every time. The indigenous forest trees offer lessons of nature and peace of mind. It's dog friendly and a perfect place to adventure all year round as there is plenty of shade in the summer.A few access routes to the saddle between Devil's Peak and table mountain start here as well as the fire fighting services headquarters.

Always love this walk...steady incline if you take the jeep track and quite steep if you go up the pine tree paths! Well worth it for the views. We get lost every time but that's part of the fun!
