This was an eperience we'd love to treat ourselves to again... The medium prime steak was a solid 10 out of 10, but the ambience and seat comfort is what won us over.

The Famous Butcher's Grill
Excellent food. I went three times during my trip. On one occasion I ordered the steak/wings combo with a side of chips for the main and it’s was excellent, then went for the Famous Chocolate orgasm for dessert and it was incredible. The only problem I had was that it was too much for one person. Really top quality food and the staff were excellent. I also got water and two beers (Windhoek and Castle Lite) which all came to R360 so also very reasonable.

What an amazing experience the restaurant service was great the food was to die for and the atmosphere was lovely. If you want some privacy make sure you get the booth at the back it's cut off from everyone else and you feel like your all on your own. A must try is the steak and the mushroom risotto.

Lovely place in Cape Town CBD. Had supper there and the food was excellent.Had a very nice waitress. Friendly and attentive.Very relaxing with live piano music in the background.I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a good meal as part of a night out with your better half.

One of the worse experiences i have ever had. Our steaks were ice cold, and tough. The manager (Rene), was even colder. When i complained, she asked if i wanted it re-heated in the microwave. Like “hell nnnoooo”. I said i will never come back here, and her reply was “well, some people like it here, some dont. So if you dont, dont come back”. Great customer service skills, Rene. NOT. Absolutely no management skills at all. On the positive side, the staff were amazing. Pitty they have such an incompetent manager. So yes Rene, i wont be back. I will take my measly R1,300, and rather spend it at the Spur, which im sure they would appreciate. It’s clear that you dont want, or need the business.

A rather drab and dated interior & menu. Three of us ordered steaks which were average at best. The side dishes were not great.Service was pleasant, but slow.Was very disappointed & wished we had gone somewhere else.

Wow! What a great restaurant! I stayed at Cape Town Lodge based on reviews, price and the mention of good steak restaurant on first floor and the Butchers Grill did not disappoint! I was traveling alone, I ate here three times, I had the large sirloin steak with sides and Greek salad, local beer and The Famous Chocolate Orgasm, densely baked chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. Wow! Mouth watering, cooked to perfection, you can see chef cooking your meal if you stand up and want to watch. Great service and a wonderful piano player and base player playing great music with occasional vocals. Safe, clean, large portions, reasonably priced dining perfection!

I've been here several times with friends and family, and the service has been excellent each and every time. The menus offer a variety of choices and the meals are good portions and great tasting. The atmosphere the band sets is fantastic. Well done to all of the management and staff for offering a pleasant restaurant experience.

The Famous Butcher's Grill
I'm staying at the Cape Town Lodge, where this restaurant is situated. It's not a misteak to eat here, the starter you can see in my photos was huge, so make sure you're hungry or there won't be mushroom left for the amazing steak and chips. The onion rings were crispy and delicious, and run rings around other onion rings I've had. Honestly very very good, highly recommend!
