Absa | Branch | Gansbaai

We have been long standing ABSA bank customers and sad to say that the Gansbaai branch is the worst experience ever.At the end of this month when we visited on 30 June 2022 at 13h00 they only had 1 person at enquiries and 1 teller and when we asked why, they said it is because of ESKOM that they have system problems.The branch manager just sat behind closed doors with earphones on her ears and when I waved through the window for her attention, she showed me an irritated STOP with her hand and never exited her office during the HOUR we had to wait just to collect a debit card.PS: Where are the Inverters, generators and backup IT equipment and personnel? we pay premium bank costs for goodness sake.All personnel at this branch should be informed that we are all valuable customers that pay their salaries, and thank goodness that we perform all our transaction electronically and do not have to visit this branch more often.

Have been standing in the row for 1 hour.Branch manager just sits at the desk. Not asking people what they here for.

The friendly sraff and their willingness to assist. Even the security man is everedy to assist.

I entered as a possible client. ABSA Gansbaai is the largest bank in the town and surrounding towns. There is a small NEDBANK but it is best to go to Hermanus should you want to do business at other banks. Wish I could take photos from the inside of the bank. Not allowed. First frustration was the roller door. It makes me feel closterphobic. Inside I stood wondering where to go. There was a long que at the teller side, longer que on the customer queries and a bunch of chairs with a load of people sitting. Had to look for an available staff member to ask. The first impression was not favourable. Yes there is CCTV but not a single security guard in sight. The roller door won't fit a wheelchair or any walking aid. There was another door but it was lock. Nobody there to unlock the door. No help desk. Line with waiting customers. Way to long. Keep in mind it was a normal day, not pay day. One chair at the teller section for customers that can't stand for long. In all... short staffed. I waited 2 hours for a consultant. There are supposed to be 2 full time consultants. The lady we met was on loan. Very helpful lady. I must mention that the branch manager was all over the show trying to help with the customers so, 100% for her effort. To give the punch line. Hope you have online facilities to do your banking. If not, make time for a long wait.

As a long standing ABSA client I was shocked to see how dirty and unhygienic the ATM just outside the front door is. Limit of how much you can draw and then gives the whole amount in crumpled,dirty R20 notes. Disgusted

Worst service possible

Possibly the worst bank of banks....out of their full compliment of staff there is one that will find the time to help you, the rest all move you along to someone else or send you off to the ATM.The foreign exchange is non existent however the foreign exchange" signage remains.The tellers are kept to a minimum even on the busiest days (old news across the board with banks)No luck visiting the bank during load shedding

Average service. But very friendly staff. Ample parking space and very accessible.
