Treur River Lodge
Perfect secluded hideaway! Surrounded by trees full of birds, and right at the river with crystal clear water (even in winter perfect for a quick dip).There's a small little walk up the driveway towards a rock formation where the water flows freely and drops; that area alone is worth the time, especially in summer.Overall a good stay, there's lots of small details in how the cottages and property have been set up that show there's love and attention put in to this place.

Friendly staff, great menu, and accommodation was perfect. Absolutely love the handmade soaps!!! Just what we needed for our breakaway. Will be back for sure. Thank you for spoiling us!!

Fantastic accommodation with all the necessary elements for an eco logde. The riverside location and birdlife is lovely. Great stop over when doing Blyderiver hiking trails.

Our stay at Treur River Lodge was unforgettable. The owners went out of their way to help us. The accommodation is super cute, clean, neat, modern and comfortable. The views and location is put of this world.

My boyfriend and I were here for valentines. The stuff and owners are friendly the down side of our stay is that we had to shower with cold water for the weekend because the was a problem with our gas. Even after it was fixed the next morning there was no power or hot water but the food is nice.The lodge is an eco friendly one also

Don't stay here. There is usually no hot water and sometimes no water at all. Its a sad case of the owners having lost interest and have a very bad and negative attitude, accusing guests of all sorts of things and the staff always agree with him. Pity because it is a pretty location.

There was no hot water! This in the middle of winter after a long days travelling made for a terrible stay.We were told that the hot water fire was burning strong and that we could add a log or two later if needed to ensure hot water. After checking in, we left and returned an hour or two later, around 17:30 in need of a shower. I am quite experienced with hot water by fire systems and rather enjoy using them but I spent more than an hour trying to get hot water but there was none. I spent most of the hour outside in the cold trying to keep a fire going but no hot water. To make matters worse there was almost no water from the basin taps - not even cold water. Just a tiny trickle. When we left we complained to the lady at the reception so that they may remedy the issue for other guests. The lady who was the owner, apologised and said that she will refund us. So we left feeling at least a little comforted.But that was not the worst of it. Three days later I WhatsApp’d the owner lady just to follow up on the refund since I had not heard anything from her. I mentioned that booking.com is requesting feedback and a review so I need the refund in order to know how to proceed. She replied saying that there was nothing wrong because the water in the tank was warm the next morning. They did not even check or mention the actual water in the chalet we stayed in and insinuated that it was our fault. She also insulted me by saying that she “even if I refund you, I know you’ll still give us a bad review because I have summed you up as human beings”. Wow! She also lied saying that we were rude to her staff. I personally checked in and had a friendly exchange with the kind lady at reception. The owner was not on the premises at the time - not until the following morning.And the worst of all: I never received the promised refund and now she has blocked WhatsApp messages. Disgusting behaviour.

It has a lovely view! The food was okay. The shower experience was terrible, the water in the shower was either too hot or too cold. They also need easier access to get in and out of the river.
