Folk Cafe St. James
The ordering system is a bit archaic ( you have to order from the counter) and a bit slow, but if you’re after a relaxed breakfast, I can certainly recommend the Brioche Basket. It’s seriously yummy! And the cappuccino is seriously good! Also includes a small playground for kiddies too. BUT BE AWARE - no card facilities!

Lovely garden restaurant. Good food and extensive menu with plenty options for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free. The menu has plenty of variety from pizza, burgers, salad, deep fried cauliflower wings, fish options, flat breads, steaks, breakfast menu too and bagels. The garden has a wonderful play area for kids. The inside area has a good deli and cafe offerings as well as a decent wine selection. Great staff and over all great dining experience.

What an amazing great found after 12 years of being in Cape Town. This place was recommended to us by a friend and we immediately followed the hint as we're always looking for family friendly places in and around Cape Town. Folk Cafe is definitely on our new Favourite List as it ticks so many boxes.1. Amazing food - we had pizza and their cheesecake. Absolutely delicious and some ice cream for dessert. The kids were in heaven!2. Great play area right next to the tables and benches so that you can always keep an eye on the little ones while they're playing.3. Live music from local artists who create the best vibes and relaxed atmosphere.4. Doggies are welcome too, but must be kept on a lead.5. You'll find a shop inside to shop some artisan food and treats.We can highly recommend it and will be back very soon! What an amazing place for families!

Perfectly appointed - and beautifully curated - spot for a hearty and nourishing bite to eat after swimming at St James' Tidal Pool. The carrot cake looked delicious and exquisite but I'll have to return again for that tasty treat having filled up on the G-String (!) vegan smoothie and burrito salad with Heritage tomatoes and Shimeji mushrooms. Great selection of deli items in the shop to complement the comprehensive and healthy menu. Delicious!

Went to grab lunch after hiking with friends. The service is great and fast, it has a calm sort of chilled atmosphere and extremely budget friendly. Do pop by i would recommend 100%

Delicious food with many gluten-free and vegetarian options in an absolutely gorgeous environment. The outdoor seating almost next to the ocean with the sound of the waves and amongst many aloe and lavender plants is wonderful to enjoy the great meals. Super friendly staff and also many healthy food options in the front, lots of baked goods.
