River Place

Did the 4km hike with my two dogs and had breakfast at the restaurant overlooking the river. Beautifully maintained venue and scenic trail walk. Excellent service from very friendly and helpful staff. Peaceful morning atmosphere and great experience overall. Will definitely be back.

Everyone here is so incredibly nice and welcoming. A friend and I came here to hike with our dogs and it was quite the hike! We loved it. The trail up the mountain was a bit steep, but so worth the view! The dogs were allowed off lead and they enjoyed running around and sniffing all the things around the trail.Definitely a place I will return to!

We had a dinner bed and breakfast deal. The accommodations could have had more privacy and better views, BUT the value for money was astounding. Good service and great food as well as a great location next to the river.

We met friends for a saturday lunch at this stunning venue. We had an excellent table right next to the river. But, thats when things started going wrong...the service was almost non existing and when they did bring you drinks it was not always the correct one. And the less I say about the food the better (seeing that its rather pricey you expect good quality)...3 of us had the chicked schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzels were so overcooked it was almost inedible...we thought the mushroom sauce might save it but the sauce was even worse!! My wife had the fish cakes she said it was the most horrible fish cakes she had ever had". Maybe the chef was MIA and the waitors did the cooking the day we were there...but 1 thing is for sure that we will NEVER go back there!!"

Sitting next to a stinking river is not a good idea for a restaurant.Access for a mother with a baby and pram is non-existing. This would also be true for an elderly person with a walking frame or anyone in a wheelchair.My wife had reserved a table for lunch. When we finally received a slice of bread, we realised there were no knives on the table. Later, we also discovered that there was no salt and pepper. How do they put a Reserved board on a table and not check that it is properly set?Service is atrocious. Waited almost two hours for lunch ...Set-up requires some tlc and basic maintenance.

This gem drew me back for a second visit because of their great service and friendly staff. The three star was only due to the reception we received on book in.Maybe I expected a bit too much.I called in advance to say I was going to book in late. What I was expecting was at least the lights were put on and maybe the heater too, as it was a little cold. Nope. We arrived and sat in a dark parking lot waiting for someone to show. After calling, again, someone came to greet us and take us to a dark cold room.taking this into account, we still enjoyed our stay and would come back.The hike is a proper hike. Through a river bed. Up a steep hill but it was worth the effort.The suite is really good, clean, tidy and more than sufficient.I’ll be back.

The location of the restaurant is very nice and there was a musician who created a lovely ambiance.The actual food & beverages are not managed well. My husband only had 2 drinks, after which he was told they had run out. A number of food items listed on the menu were also out of stock.Although the lamb shank & rib dishes were enjoyable, the food is more catering" quality rather than chef quality. It tasted like a lot of ready-to-use items were used

Such a beautiful area and with lots of potential. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of confusion with rates and prices.... pity because it's not fair towards staff that try to resolve issues! Management to blame. Liquor and beverages extremely expensive.
