Happy with the Service from Nthabi and Hohm Enegry :-) Everything went according to plan although I had to wait for 3 months for the stock to arrive in the country from the time I placed and order, which is understandable. Highly recommend Hohm Energy. My inverter and battery carry a 10 year warranty which is a bonus.

The whole process took about 3 months and there were many promised installation dates that came and went with minimal communication.The actual installation was done well and only took 2 days.Happy with the result but the process was a bit frustrating.

The installation commenced on 5 April 2023, where the installers/contractor only arrived after 2 PM, and installed the panels and inverter. They arrived the nextday to continue, where they damaged my roof skirting and stated they will not repair it out of their pocket. They left the main power box in a mess in regards tomoving switches around without relabeling. This is when the issues only started, because it was Easter long Weekend, at around 3 AM the battery sounded over theentire weekend when the battery reached 0%.After the 1st complaint, the contractors did come and fixed the roof skirting and did some sloppy patchwork on the gaps. After this, the battery still died 2 to 2 1/2 hours into load-shedding, and they came to replace the communication cable between the inverter and the battery. The system still pulled power mostly from the grid and only very limited power from the panels.I got a phone call on Saturday, 29 April 2023, from the Electrician stating that he has canceled my COC for the solar system, due to the contractor not paying him. Imade a 2nd complaint where a few days after another electrician came out to go over the system and made a few changes to the system and wrote a new COC for the system.John then phoned me, on 4th May, and said that he will arrange to come out on 8 May to update the battery software due to he needs a new more powerful laptop to run Magneto's software. The 8th of May came and went with no update, I sent emails and no response. At this time the system's battery has reached 0% when the inverter states it has around 40% left.On 15 May, I send an email to MFC and Hohm to request an update but I still received no response. At that stage, I was fed up and the only way to get your attention was to create a Hello Peter review as this got Hohm's attention, so on 16 May I created a review. A few hours passed and got a call from a Hohm employee, he say he took it personally from the review as one of the top executives saw the Hello Peter review. I gave him my side of the story of not getting any update for 7 business days, I am paying for a system that is not signed off as well as not functioning as expected.In came COO Anne who saved the day and made me feel much better and assured me that results will follow and just made my day. She worked with me every step of the way to get the batter replaced in a few days. The battery was replaced and everything was resolved in a very short time period.This horrible experience turned around into a good experience.Thanks for the system and for making the experience better

Very frustrating to deal with. Value proposition and process not explained on website and once you get an email with the process, it does not work as stated. Still busy with mine. Nearly 2 months and quote not even finalised. They also simply do not respond to emails. Products might be good but service terrible. Wish I had used a private installer in my area.

Getting the installation done was painful. Installation was to start 2 weeks after full payment, but eventually only started 6 weeks later. Had to eventually settle on a different system than what was quoted on.Installation was done by Ampnet and was done well. The solar system works very well. A SunGrow solar system was installed.The system however cannot be configured by the user (myself) and if I need something changed I need to contact Hohm to configure it on the backend, which is frustrating, especially since their level of support is pretty poor.Update: support non existent. Stay far way from these guys.

Great Solar System Installation Experience with Hohm Energy and The ShoTech Group!I recently had a solar system installed at my home by Hohm Energy, in collaboration with The ShoTech Group. Overall, I had a positive experience with a few minor hiccups along the way.The installation process was completed in a timely manner, taking only 4 days to set up a 14-panel system, an 8kVA inverter, and 2 x 5.12 kWh batteries. The team from The ShoTech Group did an incredible job throughout the entire installation. Their expertise and attention to detail were evident from start to finish. Kudos to them for their remarkable work!Unfortunately, there was a delay of approximately 2 weeks, which was beyond the control of Hohm Energy or The ShoTech Group. The delay was caused by ABSA Insurance and MFC Financing failing to communicate effectively. While this was frustrating, I must commend Hohm Energy for their efforts in trying to resolve the issue promptly. They kept me updated on the progress and did their best to ensure a smooth process despite the delay.During the entire 8-week process, Lethabo provided exceptional service. She was knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to answer my questions. Her professionalism and dedication were greatly appreciated, and she made the overall experience more enjoyable.I would also like to mention Tumi, who went above and beyond to assist me. She was incredibly helpful in navigating the paperwork and coordinating with the different parties involved. Her efficiency and friendliness made a significant difference in ensuring a successful installation.Although the delay caused a slight inconvenience, I am extremely satisfied with the end result. The solar system installed by Hohm Energy and The ShoTech Group is functioning excellently, and I'm already reaping the benefits of clean energy and reduced electricity bills.Overall, I highly recommend Hohm Energy and The ShoTech Group for their exceptional solar system installation services. Their team's expertise, professionalism, and commitment to customer satisfaction were truly impressive. If you're looking to go solar, this is the team to trust!Note: This review is based on my personal experience and may not reflect every customer's experience.

I recently came across Hohm Energy and was quite disappointed to learn that their staff proudly flaunts their efforts to push legislation against DIY/Right2Repair Solar installations on the Sunsynk Facebook page. This not only demonstrates a lack of support for consumer rights, but also hinders the growth of renewable energy by limiting options for those interested in adopting solar technology.Furthermore, it's quite disheartening to see a company with a pro-ANC mindset thriving in this space. It is crucial that we, as consumers, collectively work to prevent businesses with such regressive ideologies from expanding and gaining influence. Companies should be promoting inclusivity and accessibility when it comes to renewable energy solutions, not limiting them with a narrow-minded approach.

A summary of my experience and learnings: (April/May 2023)Pre-sales and financing: Things went very smooth. As noted by other comments, the shortest route is to get finance directly through the bank and then do a cash" transaction with Hohm. It took around 3 weeks after approving the proposal to get stock and finalise the installation date. I guess this biggest driver here is stock availability. (In my case
