Fraaigelegen Farm, Tulbagh

Lovely people, lovely placeBeautiful setting with 6 camp areas and 3 cottages. We were received very nicely with some eggs, olives and other items we ordered, not everything on the list was there but some came the following day and the jam was taken off the bill. Absolutely quiet and clean spot in between the olive grove and olive cottage. The bathrooms were spotless and the shower hot. There is a small spot for washing and drying the dishes with hot water as well. Sean and Juerg were very inviting and sweet to us, they also gave us a map with the local restaurants and downtown Tulbagh. Absolutely camp here If you love quiet and safe..Internet was spotty but Sean gave us space to use on his own front porch to do work etc …thank you!

This place took me by surprise, going onto a private dirt road driving around the winding farm pathways to come across a family friendly cottage perched at the foot of the Tulbagh mountains. Daily views are very refreshing and surrounding farm lands are a great place to take a walk and take in the views the encompass you. I must also commend the owners of the farm treating us and (from what I can tell according the guest book) others like long time friends, together they answered all the queries we had and fixed any problems with haste.I can't wait to come back and experience it all again.

17 March 2023Camp Site review. A small and more private campsite in the Tulbagh countryside.Pros:Jason the host was great in his communication leading up to and during our stay. He was friendly and a great host.The campsite is fenced.It is a site for the more peaceful of campers. There is a good chance you have the site to yourself.The site has braai areas, a good, clean ablution block, a kitchen area, and electricity. The ablution block is split in two so that two groups of campers have their own bathroom.Beautiful mountain views at opposite ends with an olive grove to the side.The farm also has vineyards and a dam for swimming.Cons:Cell phone reception is spotty.You can hear a bit of a buzz from the highway.The campsite lawn has somewhat of a slope and isn’t even throughout.

Beautiful setting on the farm with lots of space to take walks. Cottages are pet friendly (even though they are not fenced) and the dogs enjoyed playing at the dam and going for walks on the farm. The host is very helpful and friendly. Will definitely visit again!

Absolutely Beautiful Environment!!!Log fireplaces, breathe taking scenery and long walks to calm the soul or bring families together again.Quiet get-away nestled between 2 mountain ranges, and at the foot of one...With friendly, caring and welcoming hosts making sure your stay is perfect and comfortable.And if you time it just right in Winter you may get to see some snow on the mountains.

We camped for 2 nights on the farm. It was just an incredible experience and exceeded expectations. The hosts were extremely friendly / helpful , campsite beautiful, with excellent ablution facilities. After a very tough 25km hike the hosts even arranged a few cold beers.

Sublimely peaceful weekend spent camping at this gorgeous spot! Surrounded by olive trees, vineyards, and mountains, the stress of urban living and work demands fade away. The camp site is basic and natural (it does have electricity) but the bonus is if you book, then it's just your group ... no other campers. Ablutions are clean with lovely hot showers for those chilly evenings. Peacocks wander around. A short walk to a scenic dam where you can swim and picnic. The cottages look idyllic, next time we'll book into Shiraz or Cabernet for the experience!Well situated with easy access to Tulbagh and surrounds. Lots to do in the area if you want to stay busy but a book and a hammock on this wonderful farm does wonders for the soul.

This place - just wow! Beautifully tucked between the mountains and vineyards, this beautiful cottage is the peace you need in your life! Well priced. Neat and clean - and the hosts/owners really goes the extra mile. The administration was flawless and the extra goodies they leave at the cottage is really cool. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need to have a great self catering experience. The farm is well situated - near restaurants, wine farms and shops - but also far enough for complete peace. Can't wait to visit this farm again.

What a lovely place - the farm is beautiful. Set against the backdrop of the Cape Fold mountains, it’s absolutely idyllic. Venishree and her husband were outstanding, checking up with us constantly, they were perfect hosts. The ablutions at the camp site are wonderfully clean and there’s a lovely boma for your fire just off from the campsite. The olive groves surrounding the area create a great rustic feel and the sunsets are sensational. The area is massive and has sufficient electricity supply - nothing to worry about! Yes, there were factors that the owners couldn’t control like wind, but it wasn’t unbearable. I’d love to stay here again and it was a pleasure.
