I recently had an unpleasant experience with Techno Group and their inspection services. After receiving a quote from them for the work that needed to be done in order to obtain our COC certificates, I was shocked at the amount of work they recommended and the exorbitant price they quoted us. I decided to look for an alternative service provider and was able to find one who was able to accomplish the same result for a significantly lower cost. What was even more frustrating was that Techno Group still expected us to pay an inspection fee for a service that did not meet our expectations. It seems to me that this is a lucrative business model for them - charging high prices for unnecessary work and still charging for inspections, even if they are unable to provide satisfactory results.I would not recommend Techno Group's inspection services to anyone. In my experience, their quotes are not in line with industry standards and their recommendations for necessary work seem excessive. Additionally, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired, with little regard for customer satisfaction or fair pricing. If you are in need of inspection services, I would suggest looking elsewhere. There are many reputable service providers out there who can provide high-quality work at a fair price, without the unnecessary fees and charges that seem to be a common practice at Techno Group.

When I read all the negative reviews about this company I was really scared to make use of their services, but we decided to give them a chance as they were recommended by someone. They did our electrical inspection and repairs for the sale of our house. Well I must say what a pleasant surprise we got. They were punctual. We insisted on proof of vaccination, which they provided. They were very considerate of our fears with regards to contracting Covid and at all times adhered to Covid protocols. The account was much less than we anticipated and the team leader of the guys who came to do the work was an absolute star. He explained why certain things had to be done and answered all our questions. We had a very positive experience with this company. Really a pleasure to do business with them. I will definitely recommend them with pleasure! They we're absolutely awesome! (P.s. and I am a very particular person and super fussy and I can just say they're fantastic)

On 5 April when I called to find out what the price off inspection was for CoC's I was told that they don't charge for inspection but they charge for the certificates. Before coming for the inspection a lady called me and I asked her if they will be able to do an inspection of the electricity on 21 April when I have loadshedding she asked the size of the property I said the flat is 38m2 she said to me then the electricity does not need to be on.On the day of inspection they keep saying oh but we can't test anything because there is no power? Then why schedule the appointment for that time when I specifically asked the question. Now they saying there's work that must be done. Lead must be redone on the hob in the kitchen, an extension lead must be taken off a sticker must be pasted by the stove and an isolater for the extractor fan in the bathroom and a plug casing must be replaced. The materials cost R75How do you justify a bill of R2200?I was told that 2 valves in the cistern must be replaced hat should take 15mins maybe 30 at most the materials cost R30 now do you justify a bill of just under R1000?This is ridiculous. Now I'm being told no the inspection is not free I must pay for it.Why was lol this information not disclosed prior to the inspection when I specifically asked? This is unacceptable. Now I'm being forced to have you carry out the work at your exorbitant prices. Otherwise you won't give me a clearance certificate. This is ridiculous

Selling a house and getting all the inspections and repairs done for certificates is a costly business and relying on a company to be transparent with their quotes is essential. What started off well with the inspections didn’t end very well. Rating was done for each category and then averaged. Beetle inspection and certificate was the only one that went smoothly. After they’ve done the gas inspection, my current installation was broken and I had a gas leak in the house. When fixing this and the required fixes for the gas certificate, the cream coloured cupboard was left black from burning while doing the installation. One of the team members was very rude and if I wasn't there to stop him, he would have broken down the cupboard where the gas hob is located. The electricity and the water quotation was quite ridiculous and included several unnecessary items, even an item that stated “redundant light in garage” but they wanted money to “fix” it. After querying this, they agreed to remove this from the quotation, but never sent an updated quote. After I had to use their services for the gas fix and certificate, I also had to ask at least twice get the actual certificate even though services were already paid for. Do your homework before agreeing to their quotes. Not everything is necessary according to regulations. It’s a real pity that everything worked out like this in the end because the team who came to do the inspections was really friendly and looked as if they were going to do a professional job. From four inspections, I received two certificates from them. One because it was a no-brainer, and the other one because they had to fix the damage they caused on my gas installation. My other certificates was done by other companies who was more transparent and logical in their approach.

Don't be deceived by estate agents' recommendations to use them. They quoted R31,046 for water, electricity, and gas compliance, but I got it done elsewhere for only R4,422!They incorrectly claimed my geyser needed replacing, which my insurance company disputed. They quoted R3,901 to replace a short plastic gas hose with copper and install 4 vent grommets. When I challenged their R1,700 inspection fees, they brushed off my complaint, saying “we provided a service”.It would seem the business model is taking inspection fees and then a) dissuading small jobs by giving inflated quotes or b) making massive profits from the uniformed customers that accept their obscenely high quotes.Don't waste your time and money like I did. Check online reviews before dealing with them!

During the inspection of my new house, company accidentally missed the oven plug socket. Oven was tripping and after 3 calls to the oven manufacturer, they notified me the socket was faulty. Phone Techno group and they replaced the socket almost a year afterwards free of charge. Thank you Techno. That is what service and customer satisfaction should be. Keep it real!

We sold our house and they did the inspections to give us our certifates. They did so many unnecessary repairs but we thought seeing that Rawson referred us they must be good and professional. They even removed our roof and we had to get so many new things. It cost us alot of money. They also did the inspection of the new property we were going to buy. When we moved in and it came winter. The roof was leaking insects coming from the wood in the entertainment area. The water pipes were making noises, when I called them they said its pass 6months so they can't do anything. I don't know how and why they provided certifates to the owners that we bought the property from with so many faults. This company is out to make money! Next time put yourself in your customers shoes when do inspections, ask yourself would you like people to do that to you! Buying a property is not easy. We have to now spend more money to get people to do repais
