Ichi Byoshi Kendo Dojo

Wonderful, welcoming dojo that is a pleasure to train in, whether you are already practising kendo or just starting out. The senior instructors put a lot of emphasise into looking after new members. Its a warm, welcoming atmosphere in what has to be the most beautiful dojo in SA. A great place to start your kendo journey, especially if you live in the Sandton/Bryanston/Fourways area. This kendo dojo has been running the longest out of all the clubs in South Africa. They have a very family friendly vibe with friendly members and instructors.Beginners and anyone interested in having a look are warmly welcomed by all the members. Everyone is very easy to talk to and well mannered.The senior class takes place from 18:30 until 19:30 and this is for members who have been doing kendo for a while and are comfortable training in bogu (kendo armour). 19:30 until 20:30 is for new beginners and junior kendo members.The seniors help out with equipment ordering and supply. If you are interested in starting kendo and live near byranston pop into Ken yu kai for a visit.

Awesome space to train Kendo

Well situated dojo for kendo with a nice floor. The instructors are very approachable and are always willing to assist. They are very welcoming to kendoka (kendo practioners) from other dojos and have been around for several years. Give them a try!
