Old People's Home

They are professional and extremely thorough in their level of care but still loving and gentle.

Really neglecting the old people. Can’t even have a look at my father’s room to see if it clean or made up!! Really pathetic!!!

Seriously neglectful in taking care of the elderly suffering from dementia. My dad looked uncared for, his her wasn’t washed and cut like we asked plenty of times, since they have a hairdresser on site and we are not allowed to come even close to him to do so ourselves. When I asked what they do all day eg. activities like chair aerobics or even watching tv, he said no, they only sit around all day doing nothing. It feels like a prison to him. They don’t even deserve a one star rating. Our complaints were totally warranted but flat ignored by ALL the staff from management to “care-takers”. We were not even allowed to give him a hug after not seeing him for more than six months, and that’s in lockdown level one. Our hands were sanitized and we wore masks and had to talk to him through a thick plastic screen and only allowed a short half an hour. But the staff go home and to work every day, in crowded taxis etc…. It broke our hearts not to even hug him. He got covid19 there at Old People’s home a month after he moved in there. This is after we had him tested for Covid before admission three times negative/ not detected. Why did we choose this facility? Because they make you believe he will be in very good hands, well taken care of and kept busy with fun activities and we can visit often. Yes, then lockdown happened, but some of their so called rules should not apply on level 1.

Grossly negligent institution. i would give 0 stars if i could!They allowed my 81 year old grandmother to self administer her insulin, and when i questioned it after she had told me i was informed they had no space in their refrigerators.Their staff is rude, unprofessional and refuse to accept any responsibility.They informed Netcare 911 to admit my grandmother into hospital despite a referral letter and my express instructions she was to see a specialist at the Glennwood. I now have a bill for her admittance their Chairman states has nothing to do with them". The lies

We felt that the staff were not adequately trained and lack professionalism to look after frail care and dementia people. My parents were seriously neglected in this home, so much so we had to eventually remove them.
