I had orthodontics here in the 90’s. Dr Esra extracted two of my premolars under the simplistic but fallacious explanation that humans have evolved to have smaller mouths and all their teeth no longer fit. This explanation is, in fact, wrong, and I was not warned how my face would be irrevocably altered by this quick procedure or if there were any alternatives.In response to these irreversible extractions, my growing teenage face developed a severely recessed mandible as the bone was slowly absorbed without the additional structure to support it.The simple procedure of extracting teeth has a cascading effect on the maxilla, and mid facial development with eye sockets, and airways underdeveloped to their natural potential.I now also have receding gums, bruxism, snoring, possible sleep apnea, frequent headaches, eye inflammation, dry eyes and deviated septum as a result. Since my airway was underdeveloped I had a constantly stuffy nose and started mouth breathing. To try to subconsciously compensate for the narrow airway I developed Forward Head Posture.Worse still I now have chronic pain in my traps and can’t remember having a single full nights sleep in the last 15 years. One of the best. He is very friendly and sure knows what he is doing. He has such friendly staff and they are very helpful. Both Highlands and Town excellent service. Wish we had more Dr’s like Dr Ezra.
