Engen Charles Harris Motor

In the early 2000s the amalinda highway was a much more friendly place, I remember once there use to be a restaurant here next to engen that sold different varieties of fat cakes. Huge fat cakes with like biltong and cheese and flavors like that. Now the area has changed. Since that nightclub or bar opened up next to engen, I don't go there anymore. The parking bay smells like urine and there are always rowdy characters nearby. So now as I'm going up amalinda, if fresh stop doesn't have fuel or caltex and shell are full, only then, will I make u-turn and come back down to engen. The 3 stars is for the convenience store inside engen, those guys are great.

Most unfriendly staff and service. Will never go back there again☹️

We pulled up this morning to fill up for our journey back home. The female attendants was having a chat in the booth and did not bother to come out even though they saw us waiting. One attendant, a male was busy serving another customer. Eventually two other local motorists pulled up, they came out and served the two new arrivals. We are from the western Cape, and not used to this kind of service. And especially not from Engen. We moved along to Engen Settlers way and was served, with a smile and urgency by Eugene

I was just at Engen this evening and I payed using scan to pay and they said my transaction didn’t go through even after I showed them from the app it went through. They made me pay again using cash. When I got home I called the bank and they said it went through. I forgot to take a slip for the cash payment but hopefully when I go there in the morning it will be resolved
