When us as individuals, conclude agreements with private companies to render monitoring and armed response services, what we are seeking in effect is protection from criminals. The monitoring and response provided by District Watch through the control room, failed to meet the standards of a reasonable security company. On 11 Jan 23, my house alarm triggered and I was not home. On arrival, I noticed the alarm going off and disarmed the sound and waited for a call from the control centre, whilst pulling my vehicle into the yard. After 15 minutes there was no call and I decided to call the district watch control centre. The consultant advised that they did not pick up any alarm triggers and later advised that the reason for this was that our armed response service was canceled a while back, which was shocking as we didn't cancel our payments or their services and monies were being deducted as per normal. Their radio link is still on our premises and few weeks back their sales agent was on our premises to quote on an upgrade to our system. During all this time we thought we were under the protective services of our alarm company. These cumulative shortcomings point towards a breach of contract by District Watch. After much discussion with the call centre, they decided to activate our system, until they could figure out why it was deactivated in the first place, without our consent. The issue with this was that they could only activate it after midnight and should we face a real threat before midnight, we would have to call in for support. With loadshedding at its highest and breakins being frequented in the area, we feel unsafe and now to face these irregularities from a security company is unacceptable. This should be an eye opener to security companies that if they don’t provide an effective service, and there is a break-in, they could find a court holding that they are in breach of contract with their clients. And that, in turn, could lead to serious claims for damages. I have requested feedback from DW regarding the cancelation and was told they will come back to me. It's now been 2 days since my request and to date have not received a call. I look forward to hear from DW

I had a person staying in my house for the period that we were away and the once or twice that the alarm did go of District Watch were very quick to respond and also this person notice that there were regular armed response vehicle patrols past the house, so yes I am very happy with the service from D/watch

We heard noises in the yard, district watch armed responded really quick upon investigation of the property, they found an intruder and chased, him. They had the SAPS here in no time. I recommend them highly. Thank you to the neighbourhood watch who assisted

It has been a month since the grim discovery of my cat on the side of road. It isn't clear how my pet met his demise, but needless to say I was heartbroken. At 8 o'clock on Tuesday morning, 17 January 2023 I was fortunate to have an angel from District Watch stop and comfort me in my moment of anguish. Thank you to the caring young woman from District Watch who waited while I fetched a bag for my deceased fur-child. Please know I have often thought of your compassion in how you handled the situation. Thank you once again.

No longer the company it was!Poor service with incompetent staff.The ongoing excuses made by their staff members and lack of oversight from management makes one wonder how they grew so fast. This is most likely by overreaching in the market and dropping the quality service they once provided.Over the past few months I have had multiple incidents with my alarm being triggered, but no call or a call coming over 20 minutes later.Despite a break in a month ago it seems our area is not monitored routinely despite multiple houses in the street subscribed to DW security.The last straw was today- where the alarm system was again triggered multiple times, the alarm system going dead despite having power and staff coming an hour later than what was promised from their central station. This on a background of their Technical team being at my premises 3 times in the past 2 weeks to correct all technical issues. This has resulted in loss of work and income as the word of their staff members are meaningless.When calling the central station there is a waiting system with the call often being dropped. In an emergency situation this can be the difference between life and death.I would strongly recommend an alternative provider if you take the security of your family seriously.

I have now made four calls to get a qoute. By now they know my cell phone number. Despite promises that somebody will phone me and make arrangements with me, I am still waiting. I have given up. If this is the kind of service they deliver, I have no faith whatsowever in their competence.

You guys are worth 1000s of stars. I am not a district watch client but always there in minutes when I need you. Even to help catch my bird........ but seeing your officers assist a birth at the engen garage was just beyond expectations. You guys are simply the best.
