If you are looking for an experience that tick all the boxes , Pitstop and Grille Shack are definitely on the top of your list. Firstly you are welcomed with the most beautiful scenery that leaves you breathless. The restaurant itself takes you back to care free days with hits by Journey and John Mellencamp welcoming you in. The staff are what wait staff should be, friendly, helpful, informative and brilliant. Our waitress was Melissa, well done to her, she was an absolute pleasure. We had cocktails, I had their new cocktail called Purple Rain, all I can say is wow!!!!! The food was impeccable, I had the chicken waffle burger. Great portion, fantastic taste, and a definite must have for anyone.Well done guys!! You rock!

The Grille Shack
Incredibly unique restaurant on the brink of Gordon’s Bay, along Clarence Drive. The restaurant features theme which is distinct at first glass from the outside, while continuing through the restaurants interior decor.They offer extensive seating areas both indoors and outdoors, making it family friendly with children’s play areas along the lawns.The staff are friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately I only stopped for coffee and didn’t get a chance to try their meals however I am certain I will not be disappointed. Highly recommend for anyone as a “pitstop” to your journey along the coast.

What a delightful experience. Highly recommended after a long day. Our toddler enjoyed the kids area and we could relax and enjoy our food and drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful and we didn't wait long for our DELICIOUS food. They have a very relaxing and inviting ambience. Give them a try, you'll love it.

Very interesting restaurant to visit with a beautiful ambience. Got a sixties look about it with all its interesting interior decorations. Food is good and well prepared. Nature surrounding it is beautiful. Got a lovely play area for children and a gift shop. There are also three cabins where one can stay overnight.

We really enjoyed The Grille Shack bunches. The staff is very friendly and warm, the food portions are indeed very generous as it states on their menu, and the quality of the food is great.Might be slightly more expensive than your average place but you really get your moneys worth in quantity and quality.We had the seafood platter and all 3 of us took a doggy bag home with plenty food left.The atmosphere is terrific, friendly happy place with a great vibe.Theres a wine boutique and jewelry shop on the premises as well and the kiddies were playing outside on the grass.One of the good ones!

Awesome! What an amazing gem of a restaurant and bar. Finally this side of the world has got a funky, quirky road shop. Decor, Vibe, service and food was excellent. These guys have done a super job with their decor and menu too. I stopped over briefly and only had time to try their chilli poppers. They were massive and came with a mayonnaise sauce which had some chives inside. Absolutely delicious and a great side sauce for the poppers which had cream cheese inside.. I cant wait to visit again and next time I'm bringing family and friends with to enjoy this awesome venue and definitely to try more of their menu. Love this place!

Could not rate highly enough! Food is out of this world. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Even the salad with my burger wasn't just a normal salad, it was gourmet with avocado, pumpkin seeds, crunchy croutons and a delicious dressing. It's been years since I've had such a delicious burger with fresh ingredients and such care and attention paid to the surroundings and quality of food - compliments to the chef, staff and management!

The most striking thing about visiting the Grille Shack is, surprisingly, not the gorgeous mountain pass setting or the cute American Diner style menu or the super cool decor, but the happiness of the staff. What a vibe! Smiles all around, excellent personal service and laughter in the kitchen as one goes to the bathroom. It is a real treat - well done to the management! We loved the very special red wine and the perfectly prepared food, and when we went for the second time in two days, we reveled in the sunshine and the live music (on a weekend) and the ice cold selection of craft beer. Og, the nachos!!! If you are one of those people (like we were) who drive past often and never stop, you have to do yourself a favor and go in. You're going to love it!

The Grille Shack
This is such a relaxed place to have a little stop over on one of the most scenic drives in South Africa. The Grille Shack is just 5km out of Gordons Bay and. a beautiful spot to take a break along the road and admire a 50s style dining experience.The restaurant is full of vintage cars, a James Bond miniature car collection, old scales and lots of things to discover.The kids can play on the lawn or enjoy a little play area with balancing boards, rocking horses, trampolines and play tractors.The menu was huge and there's many choices for every taste. We enjoyed a delicious burger and nachos along with milkshakes and cool drinks.It's a super family-friendly place and you can also bring along your furry friends if they are well-behaved.
