Beethoven's 9th symphony was AMAZING in spite pf loadshedding. The philharmonic orchestra, the Ethekwini choir and the soloists were all absolutely OUTSTANDING. The Playhouse is a beautiful and historic place, but they really battled with their generator. Area has also declined due to poor service delivery by the Municipality. Such a shame...

I had a very awesome moment in the evening while went to this place to watch Gregory Maqoma's Cion Dance Show. On the 26 of May 2023.This is world class theatre, if you haven't visited it please do not hesitate for a great experience and you come across different well artists in there.

Was a fantastic show of pianist Raphael Gualazzi. So happy to see the Playhouse open again. I do hope they get there liquor license soon. Would be so lovely to have a little glass of wine or champagne like in the old days.

We may be in this pandemic, but I really had somuch fun yesterday. Mbuso and his team there are so talented I learnt alot yesterday and I'm proud of being Zulu Nation. Most definitely I will attend another even again.

Beautiful venue. Restrooms plentiful and clean. Need stricter policy regarding cellphone use - woman next to me answered a call mid-show and continued scrolling throughout the show. Parking is available at Royal Hotel parking entrance in Ulundi Place. I paid R20 for 3 hours, but apparently you can get your ticket scanned at the Playhouse for discounted parking. Non-reserved parking is on level 12-15, so leave enough travel time, and there is an elevator available - not sure how load shedding would affect that.

I always have an amazing time at the Playhouse. I watched Shall We Dance" and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Took my mum and she was blown away... Amazing performance in a beautiful theater"

Absolutely lovely place. It's amazing to see how they have manage to maintain it all these years. It looks amazing and right now with the Christmas decorations ( December 2022) it's extra lovely. I went to see a ballet production. Wow. I absolutely enjoyed my time here.
