Blackrock Hotel

This was an emergency stay over and what a lovely experience after a very stressful day! The breakfast on Heritage day morning was exceptional! Great shower and nice rooms.

My hubby and I are passing through and decided to stop for some coffee at the diamond lounge and omg I was totally disgusted. The staff are just something else. I stood at the counter and was totally ignored. Absolutely stunned!!! What a shame that they don't have more than one coffee shop.

I was very impressed by the excellent service I received from Mr Alfred Zondo when I was making my booking. He is a true gentleman who represents Tsogo Sun group with utmost respect and professionalism.

Great place, value for your money. Its always on point in terms of service, the reception and house keeping staff is always friendly and helpful. The place is always clean. The food is good, downside the menu varies so sometimes you might not be pleased with the menu. The location is close to the mall, so shops are easily accessible. Security is also good. I would recommend it for one to stay there.

Such an excellent hotel. All of the amenities are superb. Best of all is the service from the incredibly helpful staff. The hotel GM, Mrs Varsha Governor, is outstanding. She really does everything possible to make sure you have what you need. We need more people like her in hospitality

Hello. The worst experience ever in my entire life. They actually deserve 0. From getting my booking incorrect to the arrogance of the reception supervisor, to the incompetence of the hotel manager. Double charged as they do not know how to do a refund and supplying me with incorrect information indicating the refund is immediate. Eventually got hold the top management who promised to look into the issues faced, however 5 days later still no refund and feedback from him. Very disappointed and disgusted. Will never stay there again.

UPGRADES - Looking great, staff is well trained, friendly, willing to assist. Some bar staff might need a little more nudging. All round - well done Blackrock - RECOMMENDED!

Short version: The hotels management ignores theft of its guests belongings by hotel employees or is complicit in the act themselves. Save yourself the trouble and money and go elsewhere. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!Long version: The hotel itself is average and the service follows suite. Onsite restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, leaving the sub par casino being the only real draw here.The theft in question occurred during checkout, when we forgot our valuable in the room safe which we had left unlocked while packing. We realized what we forgot 45 minutes after we departed and when we returned to check the room the item was gone. Hotel security footage confirmed that no one but my wife and I entered our room during our entire stay except for when we checked out. Two hotel employees can be seen entering the room and exiting shortly after, leaving very little room for speculation as to what took place.Hotel management performed a very curt investigation and sent us on our way after forwarding our information to their claims department. One month of being bounced around, no response, no findings or apology was every given and our valuables were never recovered.Hotel management handled the situation terribly which strongly leads one to believe that this happens often enough for them to dismiss their guests and allow a culture of theft to permeate through their establishment. NEVER AGAIN!
