FunkyTown Self-catering Accommodation

The Funky Town provided us with a cosy room, a parking spot inside the fenced property and good location in short walking distance of stores/cafes/restaurants. Lolly even did one wash of our laundry so that we got to pack clean clothes before our flight from PE the next day.

What an amazing place to stay. It is walking distance from the beach and most restaurants. The staff was helpful and friendly. The place is clean and safe. I would recommend Funky Town to everyone.

We were very excited to book in at this funky modern self catering accommodation. Really beautiful and very impressive when we arrived. Also Lolly & Tanya really great people. But we were assured on the phone that all units were self catering. That was however not the case. No TV in bedroom. No kitchen either - only a kettle for coffee. We feel that this is more like a glorified Back Packers and should be advertised like that. In which case a R1000 per night is a bit steep.

Be wary of this place before you decide to stay here, I have wrote tens of reviews at other places and all of them responded professionally. We had a super bad experience staying here where the staff were shouting at us when we arrived late, they even did not apologise and accused us for being aggressive and acting drunk when we were at our most righteous state of mind when that incident happened. As the saying goes by, it takes years to build a company and seconds to destroy it. No customer will want to waste their time writing a negative feedback if they had left your place happy. Well instead of admitting their fault, they just had to cover themself up because they need to maintain their so called “good reputation“ obviously. As a traveler myself, I feel it is my responsibility to write genuine reviews to benefit other travelers as well. Rude staff and completely dishonest management, only book this place at your own risk.

Everything was perfect! Nice bathroom, comfortable bed, perfect beach! Very friendly staff, laundryservice, beachtowels, selfcatering kitchen and braai area for free. Even the pool is nice. Fast wifi!

Our room was not as shown as in the photos. We were accused of bad behavior, simply by sitting at the pool. There is almost no privacy (our bathroom door closes). Funky town is not what they portray and we are completely dissatisfied by the situation.

Big rooms! Awesome beds! Swimming pool! Braai area with fire pit! Just a stunning place! Great job guys! You will see us again!

Loved staying here. Accommodations were nice and clean. Location was perfect, close to the beach and lots of great restaurants and bars. They also offer laundry services which was perfect timing for our trip.
